    I recently worked with New Designs Flowers and Gifts (ND) in Kingsville, ON for my Oct 8, 2022 wedding. I will preface this review by saying that I was satisfied with the overall look and quality of my flowers, which is why I gave 2 stars. Where my experience with ND was lacking was on the organizational and customer service side of things. My initial consultation was with Samantha on Oct 30, 2021. As I am not blessed with any talent in design, I indicated I would be relying heavily on her. She asked for inspirational photos, which I provided, and we had a discussion during which she took notes. It was at this time that she directed me towards a set of white hexagons for my centerpieces that they had just gotten in. I liked them, and we moved forward with that idea. In July I became concerned that the ceremony space would need more dcor, so I tried to contact ND to discuss. I was trying to be cognizant of the fact that it was busy wedding season, but it took several emails and phone calls to set up a meeting for Aug 30. At the meeting, I realized that Samantha did not know that we had already met 10 months prior. I clarified and she was able to find my file. I was a little put-off by this, but remembered that it was the busy wedding season, so let it go. We discussed the addition of an arch and she showed me all of the options they had, including a new triangular arch. I asked if that would be available for my date, to which she responded yes. Fast forward to the week before the wedding (note the total invoice payment was paid Oct 2). On Monday, Oct 3 I received an email from ND telling me that they had never received the white hexagons that had been pitched to me almost a year prior! I was presented with other options that were not in line with the past discussions we had. After some discussion with my fianc, we decided that we would MAKE the white hexagons. Prior to deciding this, there was discussion with Samantha as to financial compensation (several unanswered emails and a phone call). The amount was relayed to me and that it would be sent out ASAP, so we moved forward. On Friday, October 7, my bridal party and I dropped items off at our reception venue. The caterer indicated that ND had not left napkins as part of their table dcor. I found this odd as two copies of my invoice had included napkins, and I had paid the balance to cover the cost of the napkins almost a week prior. I called ND, and connected on the third attempt. What ensured was a perplexing discussion that continued well into the evening (including overlap with my rehearsal dinner). ND I had, for some reason, cancelled the napkins! Bottom line; I didnt, but ND insisted I had. I relayed my copies of the invoice, to which they indicated that they had a different invoice. Even though I sent over my copies of the invoice including napkins, they were never able to produce one that did not. This misunderstanding reduced the amount of my centerpiece refund, which was sent WHILE I was on the phone. When I started to explain how if I had know, it may have changed my decisions, Maria proceeded to get very stand-offish and indicated that I should be satisfied. When I brought up the fact that wood was pretty pricey to make these centerpieces, Maria said Oh believe me, I understand the price of wood, we had to make you that arch you wanted!. Excuse me? You mean the arch you offered to me? No further discussions took place after the evening of Oct 7. Even my toss bouquet was missing from my order, which during our initial meeting on Oct 30, 2021 was indicated to be complimentary with the rest of the bouquets (as was included on the initial written quote). However, I was not excited about discussing another issue with ND, and so figured out a solution to that between myself and my bridesmaids. Some positive; even with the stress the space looked beautiful. I just did not appreciate what it took to get there, the poor communication and the lack of personal attention and foresight that is supposed to go with vendors within the wedding industry.
