Been sending one child there for over one year and it has been great! Staff are friendly and our little one is excited to go each day to play, learn new things and eat the good food. Looking forward to sending the next one there too soon!

VERY thankful my daughter was able to be placed at Pluto in Activa. had to return to work when she was only 10 months old (which was scary and emotional), but the morning i dropped her off and met the infant room teachers i was instantly relieved and KNEW my baby was in a safe and positive environment. the amount communication and warmth exchanged / received on a DAILY basis is unexpected and so, appreciated. working with Nicky, Miss Fatima & Miss Mariam has been a pleasure, and makes my days at work much easier knowing my daughter is being cared for by people who clearly, enjoy caring for children

We have been with Pluto Active since February 2020, and we have had an incredible experience. We first started with them when our oldest was 16-months. She started in the infant room and the staff was amazing at helping her adjust to the new setting, socialize with others, and learn to sleep on her own. When she moved to the toddler room her teachers were so supportive in our potty-training efforts and made the transition from diapers to fully potty trained effectively. Now in the preschooler room she is learning all the foundations skills and knowledge needed to prepare her for kindergarten in the fall and I am honestly amazed at how many different sensory and learning activities are offered to her science, planting, play, writing stories, building, and teamwork. Through her 2.5 years at Pluto, our daughter has had almost every staff member as a teacher at some point and I can truly say that each one has been great each one has taken time to talk with us and update us on her day and her development. This includes any time she had a potty accident, or she scraped her knees, or if she was got hurt by another child. Of course, we never want our kids to get hurt, but its part of growing up and I feel confident that even in those moments the staff have always been on top of things, given lots of hugs, (ice and a band aid when needed) and lots of reassurance. In April 2022 our youngest daughter started daycare in the infant room, and I am glad to say that her first couple of months have been great. She loves coming into the center and seeing her teachers and her friends and she gets so much variety through the day even at 13 months. They go on neighbourhood walks, have picnics, participate in theme days, and learn fine motor skills through crafts, activities, and games. The teachers take a lot of pride in the kids in their classes watching the grow and develop, sharing silly jokes and encouraging them to be themselves. As a mom I wish I could be with my kids all the time, but I am so glad that we found Pluto because I know that my girls are having a great time every day and they are surrounded by a staff that cares and really treats them like a second family.

An inappropriate situation was brought to my attention of which occurred within the past two weeks. An ECE uttered a death threat and yelled at a child. Pluto, being a daycare, cares for children up to six years of age. Children under six years of age do not have the cognitive ability to decider whether a threat is to be a reality or an inappropriate reaction by an adult who has maladaptive impulse control. This childs parents have not been informed of this incident, and the child is in a situation where they may feel that their life is at risk; this is unacceptable. The ECE who is at cause is still employed. Two ECEs have provided their notice of leave due to the unprofessional, and inappropriate handling of the situation. This not only shows that abusive behaviour is socially normal, but also provides a model for behaviour that will be learned by the children at the daycare. This behaviour will be learned by the children, and so, these children will grow up to believe that threats to kill are socially acceptable and are not punishable. Pluto, do the right thing, provide positive models of behaviour that these children are learning from. Terminate the ECE that uttered death threats, provide an example of negative punishment, children learn from this punishment when it is modelled.
