This is a great place to shop for your pets. The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable about all their products which they have plenty of . Prices are good...I'll be purchasing my pet stuff here for now on. Better than the big box stores..and why not help support local businesses...five star

Staff went above and beyond to help me out. They were out of stock on a specific food product I needed for my dog who has many allergies to various proteins. There was another shipment coming in a few days but I was completely out. The staff member found a few sample packs of the item for me to use until the next shipment came in! That was super helpful and My pup was very happy to have her safe to eat food. Awesome!

I was in this week to pick up cat litter. The staff person was in conversation with 2 dog owners. No problem! I love dogs too, even though I don't own one. I knew where the litter was so I helped myself. I placed it on the counter and decided to pick up some catnip. Sadly, I had to interrupt their conversation to ask the staff where it was located and she pointed in a direction and said "top shelf". I didn't have my glasses on and couldn't see where she pointed. Her conversation continued. I wondered around the front but couldn't find it. She said "top shelf" again and but... no glasses couldn't see. I guess I should have said I forgot my glasses? She just didn't seem to want to come out from behind the counter to help. Finally, one of the dog owners saw my struggle and physically pointed it out to me. Anyhow, this didn't sit well with me. This isn't the first time I've come to buy something. Other times staff were unfriendly during the transaction. Do you hate cats??? Why do you sell cat products?? Sorry I am not a dog owner! Anyhow, I've given this business several chances and I won't ever come again. Pet Valu staff are always friendly. They always ask me if I need help and... ALWAYS come out from behind the cash to assist me if needed. I want to support a small, local business but not this one. Bye bye.
