I cannot say enough good about Jane, Lela and rest of team at TVVS. We have referred many patients for radioactive iodine therapy (and MRI when it was available) over the past 2 decades. Patient response and client satisfaction has been great. We are fortunate to have this well run service in our community.

TVVS saved my cats life, literally! She was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism in early 2021 and it was quite serious by the time I realized something was wrong. My home vet tried to treat it with medication and a special diet but that wasnt sustainable for us. My cat hates taking medicine, she also hated the diet and I hated forcing both on her. I found out about radioiodine treatment after an exhaustive Google search. My vet explained to me that radioiodine treatment was very expensive and my cat was so old it might not be worth it. How expensive? A one time cost of a couple thousand bucks BUT I did the math and keeping my cat on the medication would cost that much within less than a year, especially since Id have to keep having her blood and urine tested regularly to make sure her dosages were right as her condition inevitably progressed. The worst part about the medication was that it wasnt a cure and it was hard on her body, at best it was only slowing the process down and my best friend for the last 16+ years deserved better! I contacted TVVS and they were AWESOME! My cat went in for treatment, which is painless, practically without side effects and better than 90% effective at curing hyperthyroidism. She had to stay with TVVS for quite a few days while her radiation levels dropped to a safe level (mostly about her waste materials not being safe to put in regular waste channels). That was the hardest part for me but the techs at TVVS sent emails and photos of her and made me feel at ease while I waited to pick her up! Thanks to TVVS my wonderful little friend is living her best life over a year and a half later, which is much longer than I thought Id get with her and MORE than worth the cost. I had to move to eastern Ontario shortly after the treatment but TVVS has remained in contact and even keeps an eye on my new vet to make sure my cat is still doing well. I didnt realize theyd be so involved in following up but they really are! I trust them more than my own vet haha THANK YOU TVVS! Pickles is very appreciative!
