Super disappointing sales and customer support. Missleading product description and snippy sales support lead to the acquisition of the wrong product, as well as incomplete shipment of the components inquired. Despite initial willingness to exchange the product, execution turned out to be something different. Now we will stick with what we have and try to work it out. Pretty sad, given that the company provides professional products. _________________ Update 9th January 2019: Following a response of the company owner I have reduced my rating to 1 star. The response of the owner respresents a blunt lie. While in principle this already speaks for itself, it also further demonstrates incompetence. The owner claims that we have ordered a laser with elliptical beam because we did not know what exactly we need, and then when the elliptical beam did not work we wanted to exchange product but did not want to pay the cost difference for the upgrade to a laser with circular beam. That's not true at all! Firstly, we were very well aware of what we need. However, based on the documentation we found on their webpage we indeed concluded that the selected laser would be featured with a circular beam. A major reason for this missjudgment is the fact that the size of the beam was given by a single dimension only. In our view, this was a clear indication that the laser must feature a circular beam, since an elliptical beam would need at least a second dimension (e.g. width and height). We have actually informed them about this problem and they told us that they will change it in their documentation. Now, when I download the PDF from their webpage, months later, it is still the same. The documentation also does not clearly state that the laser features an elliptical beam (only indirectly through the added features section). The customer must be aware of the fact that all Diode lasers by definition of their making feature elliptical beams. This is something we did not know at the time. However, when we asked for a quotation we actually stated the base product number. The sales agent then offered us a product that had a product number with more detail, without telling us that there are different models available. Later, the response of the sales agent was that she assumed we would know about that. Give such a response, why do we need to interact with a professional sales person in the first place if they can assume that the customer already knows everyhing himself??? Furthermore, we clearly stated in our mail that we also want a heat sink to be offered. They did not offer it so we thought that it is included. This was not the case though and they in fact did not even offer free shipping to us, after we had to place a second order because of their mistake. When we receveid the laser we of course realized that it has no circular beam. After some forth and back they offered us to replace the laser if we would pay the price difference. Due to time pressure we firstly decided against this, not because of the money though, but because the lead time was too long. Instead we wanted to do beam circularitation on our own, using off-the-shelf products from Thorlabs. Shortly after, due to a general delay in the project we came back to them and told them that we would like to replace the laser after all. There was never a discussion regarding the cost to be covered by us. The problem was that they never came back to us with instructions and/or an offer. After remembering the sales agent to come back to us, whe said that we will receive instructions shortly but since then we never heard back from them. Eventually, we decided to not work with this company anymore and we still went on and performed circularization on our own. The resulting beam quality, by the way, is not good at all. To once more summarize: what the owner responded here is a blunt accumulation of false statements.
