When I first met Al Kwan, I was ready for anything. For years I had been plagued by chronic seborrheic dermatitis, which looked like scaly flaky skin on and around my nose, forehead and scalp. I looked at it every time I saw myself in the mirror. I couldn't shake it. Dermatologists would only prescribe me anti fungal creams and hydrocortisone creams. For ten years this was the only solution I had. Nothing really changed and the creams stopped working. I felt hopeless. I began to search outside the western medical tradition, which was tough because I come from a lineage of western medical doctors, so my family met my "alternative" treatment pursuits with skepticism. Fortunately, friends in my community who had suffered similar skin ailments told of the success they had experienced with acupuncture from Al Kwan. I thought why not give it a try and signed up for my initial consultation. From the outset of meeting Al Kwan, his passion for what he did was apparent. He would repeat to me over and over the innate "healing box" that each of us have inside. I was doubtful and thought let's get on with it and see this so called "healing box" in action. I was ready to be a patient and patient, because after all the years of no progress I was not expecting any miracles. To my amazement I witnessed my skin transform. After 3 or 4 sessions the flakiness was gone, the redness was gone, and the compulsion to itch and pick at the skin was gone. I continued to go for a total of 8 sessions. The redness has not returned and I feel much more confident to show my face in pictures and in the mirror. I no longer find myself looking for the redness to appear in the mirror. What a gift. I am truly grateful for the integrity, confidence and lineage that Al Kwan operates from. I would recommend Al to anyone who is seeking health. Al is a true master.

"My Healing Journey" --- I'm so happy to have met a passionate Master Acupuncturist! A true professional. I've dealt with Chronic Pain most of my life having to take loads of different opiods to manage a little of my pain levels and have been mostly bedridden the last 15 years or so. This has only been my 11th session and I've been able to work 1 day last week, do 3 loads of laundry and cook supper 4 times. Finally! I see hope at the end of the tunnel. I'm now on 1/2 my pain medications & muscle relaxers. I haven't had a migraine in over a month. I feel happier, I think clearer and sleep better. I will be sure to update everyone soon.---------Part 2 - it's now my 14th session with my friend Al, I've gone 1 week without any pain killers and 1/3 of my muscle relaxers. My energy is amazing, I'm up running around 8 hours at least. I was bedridden for about 15 years, my wonderful husband has been also my nurse and homemaker. I'm slowly coming back alive again. My husband and I have been self employed and I was the Sales Trainer/Motivator, talking - eating caused me to get migraine attacks. I have a diseased TMJ - shattered joints. Also I have a torn ligament between my C 1-2 vertebrae plus my bottom vertebrae in my spine has been narrowed which is pinching nerves down my legs. I need to thank Al as he brought up about my special Nurse who referred me to him, shes just a beautiful soul knowing I needed much more help then to just keep going to the emergency for Pain Injections. I prayed for more help somehow and she was my hopeful messenger who answered my prayers. My husband made appointments the following day. I'm back out Preaching the Good News of Jehovah God the Almighty, plus I'm able to attend my Kingdom Hall again! It's so nice to start seeing my brothers and sisters! Hallelujah!!! Today, I'm washing sliding doors, I'm oven cleaning, I feel fantastic! Thank-You Very Much Lucille! Al you are a Perfect 10 out 10, your a Pain Eraser! I'll be back to update soon.

Al is definitely the best Accupunturist! I feel so fortunate to see him. Al was recommended by my mom. If I am the Judge, I am giving Al 10 out of 10 for the treatment I have received.

My mom who suffers Peripheral Neuropathic pain and is 83 years old has started with Al in January 2016. She came every week for 10 weeks. She started showing an improvement after eight weeks. She is now comming every two weeks for maintenance. As a bystander l have watched the improvement she has made. It has helped her in being more mobile. For her l asked her what she would like to say." l am very satisfied with the help Al has given me. It is so nice to have improvement without adding extra medicine to my list." As her daughter l am so happy to see her being able to walk better and be happier because her pain is so much improved that l wouldn't believe it if I didn't see it with my own eyes. Thank you Al! From: Ingrid Scheyk and her non- believer daughter who has turned into a BELIEVER Evelyn Milburn. I am using Al's phone as I didn't have mine with me.

My story starts with pain that started in my front right chest/peck area over 2 years ago for no apparent reason. There was no fall or accident that I was aware of that would have triggered the pain. The pain started out as a nuisance and then gradually grew much worse over time. The pain in my chest/peck area worsened to the point where it hurt to sneeze or cough, and spread into my right shoulder blade, under my armpit, and I also had numbness, pain, and tingling in my right hand. My pain level on a scale of 1-10 would have been most days a 7 to 8. After dealing with this pain for almost 2 years I finally went to the doctor and they did blood work and an ultra sound on my shoulder to test for damage or arthritis. An x-ray showed minor arthritis in my neck but nothing that would be causing the pain I was experiencing. The good news was that the results of the tests showed no issue with my shoulder and my blood work was perfect. The bad news was that I still had no answers as to why I was in so much pain. My doctor suggested trying a massage therapist. So I ended up going to see a chiropractor and a massage therapist. The massage did little to help my pain. The chiropractor over a period of 7 months, brought improvement but it seemed to only help to a point and then there was no further improvement. I was very discouraged and didn't really know what I should do when a friend mentioned about how acupuncture had helped her elderly mother. So when i went to my next chiropractor appointment I told the doctor that I was considering trying acupuncture and asked her if she knew anyone that I could go to. She suggested that I go see Al Kwan as she had sent a few other patients there and they had shown improvement. So I booked an appointment with Al Kwan. I had never had any kind of acupuncture done before and to be honest was very skeptical about it. But I was in pain and out of ideas, so I went because I figured I had tried everything else. At my first appointment Al listened to my story and then told me that we would figure this out together and get me healthy again. I told him my pain level on a scale of 1-10 was about a 6 or 7. To make a long story a little shorter, I began to have less pain after the 2nd appointment with Al. It was after about 5 appointments that I came across a blog on the internet written by a doctor who is a physiotherapist. I came across an entry where the doctor was talking about the pectoralis minor muscle which is the smaller mucscle located behind the large pec muscle. This blog discussed the pain and syptoms involved with a strained pectoralis minor and I remember thinking to myself how all the symptoms and pain seemed to fit my pain and symptoms. So I printed the stuff off and brought it in for Al to see. He read through it all and together we decided to focus our next acupuncture treatments on the pectoralis minor muscle. It was after the next 3 appointments with our new area of focus that I really began to notice a difference in my pain. There was no more numbness or tingling in my hand and fingers for the first time in 2 years, and my pain level in my shoulder and chest on a scale of 1-10 was now a 1. To say the least I was so very happy to finally see light at the end of the tunnel. I continue to see Al, but only twice a month now. I think over time I will only need to come to see him once in awhile as I continue to make a full recovery. I can't say enough about Al. I highly recommend him. If I had not made that first appointment to see him Iam sure that I would be still be in constant pain. Al, you turned a skeptic into a believer of acupuncture! Thank you!
