tried to quote me $220 + tax for a new tire on a Honda . online new tire is $85. I cant believe some people fall for these scams

Booked an appointment and went in for transmission fluid and brake fluid flush, only to be told the mechanics dont know how to do it for a VW. If they dont do certain work for certain vehicles, then they should tell you that when booking the appointment. The work shouldnt even be a fully costed available drop down menu for that car. Doesnt inspire any confidence to ever come back to Canadian tire for service

Would not return a beard trimmer after three months and they break constantly, said had to return to manufacturers but the time and money wasted to return to manufacturer makes it a complete loss.

This review is specific to the parts counter part of Canadian tire. I have left another review related to the store overall. Parts counter is often out of stock (have to order in parts). Parts staff are not very well informed of much, let alone how to correctly look up parts. Note for all customers: pay attention to core fees. This is an HST issue but Canadian Tire is helping the matter by not informing their customers or staff of how this works. If you buy an item that requires a core charge, and you DO NOT have the old item with you at time of purchase, you will pay tax on the core charge, and not have it returned when you return the core. My example was a 50$ core charge, $6.50 tax. Upon returning core, I got back just $50, not $56.50. Canadian tire never highlighted that this would take place. I was told this AFTER the fact, when obviously it was too late. This may be an Ontario regulation, its also convenient that the store does not highlight this at all, the staff are totally uninformed of this item, but the store manager knows after you inquire. I had my issue resolved after calling their corporate line to discuss the entire event that took place at this store. Bottom line: buy parts at your own risk, im sure their parts/service will not last long. As for service, I personally would never trust Canadian tire to service my vehicle, ever.
