I was hired to work at one of the plants and had to spend over 8 hours of safety training emphasizing cross contamination. When I started work, my job was to remove expiry dates and make new ones on product that was defrosted already. After that, I was on a line that vacuum sealed the frozen sausage patties, some of the bags were torn and from my training, that would have to be disposed of, but I was told to use them. Buyer beware that you are not getting quality food as they promise. It was downright frightening how much landed on the floor, yet was still used.

I bought maple leaf branded pork chop from Walmart. Like the other commenter had pointed out, they always present you the best pieces of meat from the outside. When you open up the packaging at home, you will find that they hide the bad pieces behind the lable or on the second layer. This ALWAYS happens pretty much 9/10 of times. Very low and disgusting business practices. I know this address might not be directly responsible for this, but this is the address on the lable which is used to cover up the bad piece of the meat, so you get this negative review.

Posted below post on 11 Sep 20 but was taken down in couple of days, nothing unethical. Just wanted refresh my exp and companys Mgt attitude. to Need to share unjust decline of my job application at Maple lodge, Brampton ON. I feel it"s bcz i belong to a visible minority group. Applied as live haul driver a month ago, paased road test on Sep. 3rd 2020. Contacted specific Talent Acquisition Specialist of live haul after the road test 3 times by email, 3 time by phone, left VM ad when called on company provided cell phone, my call was cut on 2nd ring (this was not the first time she didn't reply for one week). Finally got reply on 10 Sep that my application is declined, asked reason of it, didn"t get reply, then called HR and got reason from the Talent Acquisition Specialist that bcz this position is only for night shift that's why your application is not approved and sent to other recruiter, total lame excuse, if it was the case then why my rosd test was taken. Even then i requested Talent Acquisition Specialist to recndsider my case as i am available for night shift and right candidate for the postion, again no response. When contacted HR manager on Sep. 11 (today) via email to reconsider my case, rather than considering and evaluating my reasoning, i been asked to wait for Talent Acquisition Specialist reply which got today again with a lame excuse that i am not suitable for live haul and my case sent to other recruiter. What a total unprofessional attitude not only by the Talent Acquisition Specialist but also hIring manager. Declining application is another matter but refusing on baseleess points is a shameful act. I can name & shame both persons but will not. They both are not Talent Acquisition Specialist, they are Talent Loosing Specialists. Reason what i feel is could be becauae i belong to a visibal minority group that's why i was declined for this job which although is not a high profile position just a driver position. I am regular customer of Meple lodge but no more. Shame on Talent Acquisition Specialist, hiring manager and Maple lodge for dealing with the job applicant in such a humilating way and wasting my one month.
