I worked for Smarco for a brief period as a sheet metal installer/ subcontractor before quitting, I found the whole office staff on the commercial side very unprofessional with very little knowledge of the industry. They currently owe myself and a couple other contractors money, they refuse to pay and have been dodging all calls and emails. I would be very careful when dealing with Smarco Building Solutions.

The company installed my furnace July 2018. I did talk with someone in the past re: furnace rattling and was told I just missed the 1 year labour warranty. Since the install I have been getting notices from Nest that the furnace keeps shutting off. I brought in a technician since there was absolutely no heat and the furnace would not start. I was made aware that my furnace is missing an important part - condensate trap kit and that this problem will continue if I don't get one installed. The technician showed me that this part is included in the furnace I purchased (Lennox el296v) but wasn't installed. He also placed a level on the furnace and showed me that the furnace is leaning away from the drain. I called the company today and the lady accused me that I might have taken the condensate kit off and said a technician from Smarco could come out and look. She said that I would get charged 180$ if he says it's not their fault. I was already accused by the lady on the phone that I might have taken the condensate trap kit out. I was afraid that I would get charged no matter what. I listened to what she said and when I tried to explain my point of view, she kept interrupting. I told her that I would rather speak to a professional (technician at Smarco) about this since neither of us studied hvac systems in school. She wouldn't let me say my part without interruptions and hung up on me. I DO NOT recommend this business. Fixing the problems from the workers that installed my furnace will be costly.
