Just finished my LIFT training for the "Teach the Teacher" course. Nick was my instructor and was very knowledgeable, down to earth, and informative. He was easy to talk to and would answer any questions anyone had. Would highly recommend getting your certificate through this company, and if Nick's your instructor you're in for a great experience!

I currently hold a 'Lift' forklift certificate, which is coming up for renewal. My 'Lift' certificate is due solely to the convenience of their former location and it was a full course, not a renewal. I called Tuesday morning to schedule my renewal and was told someone would call me back. I waited until Thursday morning and called again, was told someone would call me back. Called again this morning (Friday), and was told they are busy with booking new operator clients and they "might" get back to me, as renewals are a low priority. Someone attempting to book a certificate renewal shouldn't be a surprise to a company that advertises it as a service they claim to provide. 'Lift' relies on a central or third party call center to answer calls to their listed business number. The person I spoke to this morning spent most of the call telling me how busy the company is, when all I requested was a representative to call me back so I could move forward on scheduling my renewal. The call center rep seemed to be under the impression that I am not busy myself and that my time has no value. Less than 0 for customer service and a phone call that took about 5 times longer than it should have to leave a request for a call back. If the call center representative on my first (or second), call had been knowledgeable and/or honest about Lift's current status in regards to individual training/renewal, or someone returned my call within a day or two, I would have made other arrangements then. In regards to the quality of 'Lift' training... Speaking as a four decade plus MHE operator, the training I received from 'Lift' was much closer to "diploma mill" (to use Lift's derogatory term for its competition), than it was to Yale or Raymond/Johnston. 'Lift' was on par with the first company I certified through (a trucking company that offered individual certification). I spent about 5 minutes on a counterbalance and the same on a reach truck, a few figure eights around two traffic cones and move one empty pallet. The same practical evaluation as what the truck driver training companies who offer forklift certification generally provide. Yale had an identical classroom/theory training format but a quarter to a third the student/instructor ratio, an instructor with over double the industry experience as the 'Lift' instructors I saw could possibly have and much better oversight of the practical evaluation, which was one on one with no instructor distractions. The price was the same as Lift's, if not less. I did Raymond/Johnston's online classroom/theory component for classes 1 and 2 in December, 2021 and my practical through an 'in house' Raymond/Johnston certified instructor. Both the theory and practical components set a significantly higher minimum standard than my 'Lift' certification. A representative finally got back to me after I submitted this review, to inform me that 'Lift' currently only offers 'in house' certification/renewals for corporate clients, due to the pandemic, although they still advertise individual training on their website with a price and a pre-purchase link. Need or want a forklift certificate for employment? Save your money and get it through a lower priced competitor. No employer cares, as long as its legal and the training is going to be just as good as Lift's, in reality. Want the quality level 'Lift' claims to provide as a business? Contract Raymond/Johnston or Yale for your business needs. Why settle for less?
