South Garden Apartments

Living here 9 years now. Management is always changing. Management right now is very rude as well as the superintendent. They never listen to any request you make. They don't care about the tenants they only care about taking your rent. Parking is a big issue here. The lot is very small to assist 2 buildings. My visitors always have a issue finding parking as well as tenants paying their rent. & if u need anything to get fixed.. forget it

I have lived here for 3 + years along with a roommate we have never had a problem with the building when something went wrong they are right there to fix it the building manager is amazing along with the super I would recommend theses buildings

From the moment I moved into the building, the super advised me to be nice to the building manager as if I am not nice, things would not get done for me. I have stayed patient and kind, and things were going smoothly within the first couple of months. Any requests I asked were taken care of, such as minor repairs here and there and roach sprays. Yet, probably about 7-8 months later, requests started to get ignored. There has been a shift in management. The new management is incompetent, has no clue what they are doing, or does not seem to care at all about tenant's livelihood. I have spoken with other tenants and they express their frustration and anger about requests for maintenance being ignored, and mainly, roach sprays. I have been asking for the past 3 months to spray for my unit. I have seen infestations in my unit, not from us leaving food out (we are super keen to keep things very clean, everything sealed tight) yet we have to leave food out for our pet. It is inhumane to neglect our beloved puppy of her food and water. Well, the roaches seem to love to go for her food, so I saw their nest behind our dresser in our BEDROOM one day. There was about 20 of them. I complained to management the next day, no apology or anything. I kept badgering for a spray, yet management replies in vague responses. Finally, a couple days later, a spray was done, however management did not notify me ahead of time of the spray, so the pest control people 1) entered my unit without notice and 2) sprayed my unit while my pet was home during the time. Because of this negligence, my pet could have been harmed/poisoned from the chemicals. This building has potential, but is very neglected and because of this experience, I do not trust CAPREIT or any other multi-billion dollar building corporation. It shows that these corporations do not care about the welfare of their tenants, and that they only care about their increasing rent.
