Parkside Square Apartments

We moved into Parkside Square 6 months ago and we've been loving our stay here. The staff is extremely helpful and we absolutely love the amenities that's provided. They also have fun events for the residents every few weeks which is great because as new comers we got to socialise with other residents.

I've lived here for almost 2 years. There are many hidden charges not disclosed up front, such as the ridiculous cost for amenities. Be prepared to pay upwards of $400 during winter and summer for a family of 4. Charges also apply for cold water. Despite this being a new building, I had plenty of issues with the aircon working. After our lease expired, we were asked to pay an additional $300. Beware of rent increasing to any amount they choose as this building is not covered under rent increase guidelines. Constant construction noises starting from 7AM every day, including some weekends due to building next door. Our balcony is always dirty from dust due to construction. Elevators always appear to get stuck or malfunction, causing wait times to exceed 10 minutes. I've encountered police here on multiple occasions duento sketchy tenants. And cars being broken into in the parking garage. The stairwells and hallways always smell of Marijuana. After moving out, the landlord charged me $1000 for their contractor to apply a second coat of paint to 3 accent walls, removing stickers from my daughter's room and removing a small amount of garbage I'm surprised as I've never experienced this from any previous properties I've lived in. Aside the building being relatively new, I would not recommend living here. It's been nothing but a stressful experience.

Do not move here. Hidden charges not disclosed. Parking cost minimum $200 for lowest level. Utilities are extremely expensive. Upwards of $300+ for a family of 3. Who charges for cold water? Loud construction 7 days a week unable to sleep in. Horrible management. Hallways and staircases reek of maruajuana.

The place is good and has a lot of facilities. However, they have a lot of hidden charges which would not be explained when touring or signing the contract. A three bedroom house doesn't have mirrors in two rooms, there's no light in the living room and our contract demanded three people on it. But we only got two keys for the house. Every extra key costs $60, which is non refundable and the key must be returned once the contract is done. There is no option to choose your internet or internet plan. It's included in the monthly rent and you can really get a better plan if you have a choice. We are charged for insurance which wasn't the case in the previous condo belonging to the same management. There is extra charges for water usage and it is ridiculous. They have a contract with Provident and the residents don't get to choose the plan for hydro in spite of paying for it. They quoted $3500 a month for a three bedroom house, however we are currently paying $3920 (rent - $3500, water and elec - $340, internet - $55, insurance - $25). None of these charges were disclosed before we moved in. We moved in on the last day of the month and they charged us $115 for one day. The Management is not flexible with any requests or concerns. Review 2: After 5 months of stay, my review would be the same as above regarding the pricing, house conditions and the hidden charges. However, the management has been very positive and they've been helpful in many situations. I would like to reiterate that the facilities are really good although the theater was closed for a couple of months. I would consider giving three stars just for the facilities and the management at the building, but not for the hidden charges and the hydro. They are still a concern and disappointment.
