Me and my brother use to go this school. Teachers were very mean expect my kindergarten teacher, so glad that I moved to another school.

My two brothers and I went to this school. I loved it. Mrs Hsyes my grade three teacher was incredible. Just a sweet caring lady. The principle was sister Mary John. She scared me just because she was very stern. She was kind to me but firm. My grade 5 teacher Miss Bassinet was a sweet encouraging young teacher. I remember watching the Canada Russia 1972 hockey series during school time. Then running outside after and watching Canadians waving flags and honking their horns. Great memories of that school

I was a former student and my parents enrolled me to that as they were Catholic, so they assumed it would give me a good education and turn me into a devout Catholic, they thought it would do good for me, but it damaged me. Many years later I resent them. It happened when my former paediatrician recommended my parents to that school after I had a problem with fitting in at St Charles Borromeo School while investigating what my disability was. So it wasnt her fault, she just didnt know. I was sent to a special classroom for students with special needs but I was too smart, to say the least. Well because nobody knew for many years that I have a learning disability, which I have trouble understanding math and its concepts like fraction or geometry. I was never good at multiplication or division. Not even subtraction. But I dont know to this day if Im on the Autism Spectrum, as I became better with relating to other people. At the same time I hate to admit that I have an intellectual disability too. Anyway the teachers in the classroom were never understanding nor were that caring, especially that one person from Hungary who was harsh with me, shamed me for having dirty nails, called me a fool when I hit my classmate with severe special needs in Grade 6, made my school years a living hell, beginning when I was starting Grade 4, after a former special education teacher retired in 2000. The two ladies, one was overweight and the other one was slim, were harsh with me, didnt think I could be intelligent and capable like other students and were presumably racist towards me because I was the only Brown student at school. I was put in a detention room, which it happened to be a washroom facing the toilet when I behaved badly, instead of a regular detention room. I threw a tantrum in Grade 4 because of Shirley and Briana, whom I was jealous of and hated the most. I wish I had left in middle school, I think in grade 7 and I didnt think this would haunt me years later. I have dealt with double discrimination, sometimes three, but mostly with racism. So was I dealing with prejudice against me because I have two disabilities. I think this was the cause of my depression, my anxiety and my nightmares. I hope we can defund all Catholic schools, they are reminders of my formative years.
