Humber Summit Middle School

The school bathrooms are literally so stinky .

I have attended Humber Summit Middle School between 2004 and 2007. I have to say that this school is the worst school in Toronto today. During my attendance at this school, so many kids have targeted me, harassed me, insulted me, threatened me and even got physically violent with me. The fact that hardly anything was done about it just shows how reckless and careless this school really was. Now as a grown up, I feel very hurt and very angry that these so called staff allowed me to be hurt on a regular basis. I also have to admit, the teachers were just plain cruel, always yelling at me and finding reasons to get me in trouble for others poor attitude and poor demeanour. I was always accused of starting problems when I was trying to have a conversation with my classmates only for them to exclude me. I was so miserable and very sad through out that I didn't want to come to this school. My grades would diminish midway through the year only because I was never granted any assistance with all the issues that I am going through. Instead, my teachers would always blame me and throw me under the bus and act as if something is wrong with me. I am not agreeing with this school that something is wrong with me as I am very capable of living a great life with great potential. This school has demonstrated extremely poor moral, very misleading styles of teaching and being constantly reprimanded for sometimes doing the right thing. The kids that was there at the time constantly bullied me in every way to make me feel like I didn't exist and in fact, I felt like I didn't exist at all. Now as an adult, looking back, I feel very vulnerable, and suffering from such immense emotional pain that has not gone away ever because of extensive issues that have failed to be addressed. In my opinion, this school should be shut down as they do more harm to students like me and show no interest in a students academic success. I am very angry with how this poor school handled me and beyond shocked that kids can be this cruel to me. I would not even give it one star. It deserves 0 stars at best. I recommend that everyone should avoid sending their kids to this school as it would do more harm and destruction than good. :(

i'm in grade 6 in this school kids in my class are annoying but not all of them but other wise it is a normal school.

When I was a student, this school did not support lower income kids well. Teachers often viewed us as Problem Kids. Teachers had very clear favourites who would get away with things the Problem Kids got detention for. When I graduated, I thought I would not end up going to university or college because no matter how hard I tried, my grades were bad. But my high school teachers (not Emery- I moved after HSMS) convinced me I was fine and encouraged me to try new courses. I am very lucky- imagine the kids who did not have the support I got after HSMS. My grades improved dramatically and well, I have a degree now. Thanks for trying to ruin our lives, Humber Summit!
