This educational program doesn't deserve a star, its so leftist and so ideological! This school focuses little on nursing skills this was stated not just by me, but by the very professors. It was revealed that YorkU has a low passing NCLEX-RN rate, the test you need to get your registration licence. I am not sure if other schools do this, but here they teach way too broad, about hippy esoteric theories and little to no skill education. At the very least they could have done it in reverse order, give us skills then teach us pseudo-abstract thought. Go elsewhere, please!!!

York Nursing school is the worst school ever. Avoid by all means. They will discriminate against you, mistreat you, retaliate against you if you complain, and there is nothing you can do to get any justice. If you want to study nursing, go somewhere else.

York's School of nursing is an extremely unprofessional institution. I am surprised it hasn't lost its accreditation. The school lives up to every single one of its stereotypes. The school prepares students very poorly for the NCLEX. The program also heavily focusses on the arts related aspects of nursing and not enough on the hard science related aspects. A lot of the profs and CCDs have been fired from other institutions. There is zero accountability designated to the professors and instructors. The department is more concerned with protecting faculty who have committed several counts of professional misconduct than they are with protecting students. A number of the faculty have also violated CNO standards and YorkU's ethical standards. The very few decent CCDs and professors in the program have also openly acknowledged that York's School of Nursing has failed all of us as students. If you are interested in pursuing nursing, I highly recommend that you go to any other University that isn't York. Students graduate from the program without sufficient knowledge regarding basic nursing skills. A lot of the faculty also routinely treat students like human trash. The school also constantly strikes every 2-3 years. In the most recent strike, 2nd Entry students did not get the opportunity to start their med surge placement and there is only one med surge placement in the 2nd Entry program. Students from the 2nd entry program missed out on their entire med surge term due to the strike and they were not reimbursed for their tuition. Once a ban for going on strike has been uplifted, not long after the school usually tends to go back on strike. The unprofessional behaviour displayed by a lot of the faculty would not be tolerated at any other University. The program isn't a real University program -- it's a circus.
