We are residents of Burlington Ontario and have had a gold fish/water garden pond in our front yard since 2006. It is the DIY variety since digging the hole ourselves seemed to be pretty basic. Over the years weve added a variety of plants, and included feeder fish as an attraction for the neighbourhood children. For several winters we relied on a heater and bubbler system to keep the fish alive. Our pond had become a real hobby. Three years ago we discovered a slow leak in our pond. Over the summer, through a series of trial and error experiments, we thought wed discovered the leaks at various water levels and repaired them with a pond leak repair kit. We even added guerrilla glue for extra strength. The next year, come spring, we were horrified and demoralized to discover once again that the water level had gone down 80%. We spent the next two summers trying to plug invisible pin hole leaks, unsuccessfully. We even painted the pond liner with five coats of liquid rubber to no avail. During this time a local resident who was walking her German shepherd told us that her dog, a while back, had jumped into the pond and no doubt punctured the liner in several places with his sharp nails. Dogs will be dogs. At this point we decided that we only had two choices: fill in the pond with dirt or call on a professional. Are we ever grateful we decided to call Andrew at Bronte Aquascapes!! Andrew listened empathetically as I detailed my horror story and he promised to at least come by to discuss a repair strategy. Quite correctly, he explained that we needed a new liner to be installed on top of the old one, along with additional protective material to buffer some of the sharper rocks. This approach also involved manoeuvring monster rocks, the very thought of which pained my lower back. Andrew also suggested that a waterfall would work and constitute a woodsy environmental embellishment for very little additional cost. We wholeheartedly and gratefully agreed. It had become quickly apparent that Andrew was that professional we should have sought out two years ago. Before he left, Andrew taught us pond maintenance basics and reminded us that hes only a phone call away if we have any questions. After one work day, thanks to Andrew, this will be our first spring in three years where well be opening our pond with anticipation and confidence that the leaks are a thing of the past. Thanks to Andrew, what was once a nightmare, after one work day, has become an oasis in the middle of our suburban garden. 5 stars!! Service: Pond maintenance

We had the pleasure of working with Andrew on our backyard pond. He was reliable, super knowledgeable and made fair quotes. He provided us a few options and great advice on how to maintain in the future. We had our wedding in the backyard and everyone complimented our beautiful pond. Highly recommend him and we look forward to working with him in the future.
