Bread By Us

I absolutely LOVE this bakery and wish they would open on Mondays. It's also a bit unfortunate that they request (covid) masks but I can understand the importance of it if someone's immune system is weak. But their bread is always on point, which is what I'm really looking for.

Feeling as though I shouldve read reviews prior to going, as Im worried my sourdough will be a let down. Worst part about the business is that you HAVE to wear a mask. Havent bought a mask in over a year and a half now, so if you want people to wear one than you provide them with one. That cost is to be on the business. Secondly, I agree with others saying its overpriced. When Nats bread is at the Parkdale market, I suggest going there. Thirdly, its ironic that they have a sign saying less waste but then they are creating insane waste with the masks make that make sense please? This business wont last much longer between the prices and the face towels.

I went in to check out the shop but was turned away for not wearing a mask. Thats ok , another shop called Mamie Clafoutis down the street welcomed my business with open arms .

Out of the half dozen things we tried the only one we truly enjoyed was the cinnamon snail, it would be worth going back for and getting again. The latte was good too, I found the double shot latte strong if that's your thing. I would bring visitors here, especially if they like a really strong lattee or cappuccino but I do prefer other cafes in the city. Don't get the almond croissants, they didn't have almond filling.

Just wow. If you wanted to do anything to repel potential customers then keep on doing what you're doing. The green haired crazy working the front is extremely combative. I didn't have a mask and I genuinely wanted to know why they were enforcing their mask mandate. COVID is over, the World Health Organization just declared COVID-19 is no longer a public health emergency , it's a flu at this point. Yet the green haired NPC wouldn't have it. It's full blown COVID draconian measures at this bakery. If you don't comply you are shamed, yelled at, and belittled. For a business that cares about its employees, they certainly don't care about the environment, Handing out all those masks are ending up in landfills and polluting the environment. They are losing customers by making their business very authoritarian, our way or the highway approach. Next thing you know they'll ask for your vaccine ID. What a joke. Spend your money elsewhere.
