I recently had the opportunity of dealing with James Dubroy. I had been thinking of selling my profitable business for a while. I interviewed several other business brokers but none seemed to have the competence or knowhow of the business world in Ottawa. James first performed a business valuation, then he promptly got to work at selling my business (franchise). His experience and effectiveness really made the difference. He quickly introduced us to a fully qualified buyer and took care of us through the closing of the deal. This is why, only a few months later I am sitting on my boat and raising a glass to James! My first interaction with James was as a prospective buyer, he asked about my experience and spent the time to get to know me as a professional but also as a person. At this point I had worked with other business brokers in Ottawa, and none of them had bothered to get to know me, but instead bombarded me with listings and hoped for the best. It was much later that I next heard from James, but that's because he took the time to find a business that was the right fit. For James it wasn't just about the sale, but about the success of the transaction for both parties. That is the difference between James and those other guys! The other thing that sets James apart is his absolute professionalism. There was never an instance where his integrity, or the integrity of the transaction was in question. He ensured confidentiality and trust. I hope to work with him again in future.
