I approached Fairstone after receiving a pre approved offer. I wanted the loan only to assist in raising my credit score. What I really like is the fact that I was able to borrow $4,000 and structure the loan how i desired. Im paying 95% back immediately to save on interest payments. I also would agree that the staff will really try to work with you in scheduling the amounts and dates you want to pay. What I dont like and I warn people, about this. First, is a very high rate of interest. This loan is not cheap, unless you do as I did and pay a great portion of it back quickly. Even then think twice before you dive in! Second, do not allow them, to sell you a home and auto insurance policy with it. This will add about $250.00 per year to your loan. It also will end up costing you dearly. They dont hide it, but they dont explain it either. I discovered it by chance and immediately canceled it with the insurance company. There is an obligatory life policy that is based on amount and duration of the loan. If you pay faster, this amount will be reduced.
