Smith's Stone Masonry

We loved the work done by Smith's Stone Masonry! Craig built us a custom stone firepit for our deck in the backyard. It is beautiful! He arrived exactly when he said he would, he worked tirelessly all day paying great attention to detail, and he was easy to communicate with. He cleaned up everything when he left, and returned a few days later to pressure wash the firepit so there was no debris left behind after it had settled. I would completely recommend Smith's Stone Masonry for anyone interested in any natural stone work. Craig is a skilled artist.

We hired Craig to replace the flagstone steps to our front door. The steps were 25 years old and in poor condition. Approximately 300 square feet of flagstone had to be replaced. Craig did an amazing job. We are very pleased with the result. We have received many complements on the "gorgeous flagstone steps" from family, friends and neighbours. We would not hesitate to highly recommend Smith's Stone Masonry!

Craig just completed our flagstone walk and step replacement. He is meticulous in every part of this extremely difficult work-- explaining what he will do, removing the old stone and taking it away, carefully choosing and installing the new stones- returning to power wash and make sure all was tidy. We are very happy with the result and certainly recommend Smith's Stone Masonry. Thank you Craig - you are an artist!

I have hired more than a dozen tradespeople over my 54 years. I can honestly say Craig Smith ranks right up at the top of that list. He not only does beautiful work but he will VOLUNTEER to do all the little extra things that appear once the work starts. And I never even got a chance to ask him or hadn't considered it myself. He's doesn't lay sod but he did for us. He doesn't put down new topsoil for a garden around the stones, but he did for us. He doesn't deliver stone to other family members but he did for us! And he actually suggested that he could do that because it came up and needed to be done by someone. Never, ever, even once did he ask about more money though the square footage needed to be increased after w e got started. What a guy! What an incredibly conscientious person! We don't see his kind around anymore so get him if you can. And he was about 5 grand less than the slightly arrogant stone mason we considered before we met Craig. We tipped him and felt bad we didn't make it more. He was even humble about that and sincerely said, "Really it is not necessary."
