First appointment was great and, unfortunately, gave me a lot of false hope that my access to decent healthcare was improving.. but the first appointment was the only real/decent one I've had. Instructions are confusing, I'm regularly forgotten about and not called when I'm supposed to be.. there also seems to be little interest in anything time consuming and/or that's not easily billed for. It's really depressing and has made me totally give up on expecting any decent healthcare. Fighting for proper healthcare has become so stressful that I get anxiety and panic attacks just having to deal with these professionals now. You'd figure they'd be more concerned with their patient's stability and ability to work, but I guess there's no money in actually helping people.

I had been with other clinics and other Doctors in Ottawa a cpl years, before hearing of and switching to Dr.Marek. He was the first Doctor to actually take more than 5 minutes to talk to me about what's going on. Even still every time he calls he actually talks with you, and better yet listens. Since seeing Dr. Marek my life has improved, one thing was being treated like a real person as opposed to some loser. The other thing he did for me personally is the most important. Instead of throwing pills to try to hide symptoms, he addresses the root cause of the symptoms. As it turned out the first Doctor I'd seen at a separate clinic, had thrown a bunch of pills my way attempting to mask symptoms of what he figured out was wrong the first 5 mins of meeting. Due to this my old Doctor seemingly completely misdiagnosed me and I was prescribed medication that worsened symptoms, but I went with his judgment. The first time I spoke with Dr. Marek was at least 30 minutes, and every phone call, he will actually take the time to talk, ask, and explain. He is incredibly professional and seems to take his oath to help seriously. He DOES NOT try to mask symptoms, he goes after treating the causation. Due to his professionalism he was able to determine I was completely misdiagnosed from the first Doctor I had. Since then we've switched some things around and instead of 11 different pills, when he gets me dosed down and off the ones I NEVER NEEDED, it will be 2 or 3. Simply put Dr. Marek will actually help you by going after the root issue. No masking, so for those who are just drug seeking, Don't bother as you'll get REAL TREATMENT instead. Want pills thrown at you for stuff you don't have, go to the clinics downtown. If you want to IMPROVE your life, Dr. Marek is your BEST choice. Any negative review you read is from a junkie who didn't get his way because Marek is a REAL Doctor.
