My Doctor was kind enough to fax my prescription to them at the Civic. Knowing how slow they are, I gave them an hour to fill it, then went all the way there to pick it up. They informed me that they had not received it. I asked them to check their fax machine and they further said they hadn't received it. By this time, my Dr's office had closed, so I had no recourse but to wait until the next day and have them re-send it, but this time call the pharmacy and confirm it had been received. When I picked it up, the pharmacy still charged me the deductible. I asked if they would discount it, and they asked "What for?" I explained about the fax problem they had caused, and they said no. The pharmacist asked if I had any questions about the medication, I explained I had no questions about the *medication* but I wanted to know what happened with the fax machine. It was out of toner. I explained that had that medication been something that kept my child from dying overnight, they would have had a dead child on their conscience. She suggested that I could have had my Dr send the fax to another pharmacy. I explained that the Dr's office was closed by then. And she basically said "Well, technology is nice, but only when it works." It WASN'T the technology that failed here, it was the PEOPLE USING it. I work for the hospital, and if I showed such gross incompetence, I wouldn't have a job. And rightly so, people's safety during a deadly pandemic depend on me acting in a competent and responsible manner. If you have a choice between using this pharmacy at the civic, or using ANY OTHER PHARMACY, I highly recommend that you follow that pharmacist's suggestion, and go with ANY OTHER PHARMACY than the "Medical Pharmacy" (Formerly Desjardins) at the Civic.

There is nothing like and old fashion 'Drug Store'. They do not sell groceries, clothing, and alcohol, just medication in a professional way. I have been dealing with them for more then a decade and have always found their staff knowledgeable and friendly.
