My Brother is a patient here. Time and time again he complains about how the doctor constantly asks him if he wants to increase his dosage. Yes, you read that right. Increase his dosage when he has gotten himself down to some of the smallest dosages ever. He says he doesnt think the doctors actually want to help and neither does the system because they keep feeding you more and more pills. This clinic never even asks if you have any goals or timelines of when youd like to get off these pills. Which is also a red flag in any environment that states they are helping. So as some advice to anyone reading this and as general rule moving forward with all doctors, but particularly those who are in this position of prescribing Oxycodone. Start asking/telling the doctor/receptionist to put in your file specific notes of what you would like (goals etc) and above all, tell them to write down when they have asked you to increase your dosage and you have declined and all things you discussed that day. Of course, I would highly suggest you record this yourself as well and keep your own file of every appointment and what was said. For example, Did the doctor ask you to increase your dosage again after telling them at your last appointment you didnt want to? Do they keep pushing you to go up in milligrams ? These are very important notes to take. And I would suggest you keep them both recorded audibly AND written down, whether on your phone or in the classic paper file style. Just keep the notes, dates and time of each appointment clear and concise so you can build a trail. A friend of mine who used to work with a doctor highly suggested you always record each doctor appointment, what was said and what you said. She now records all of her doctor appointments so she has a clear record, which I find quite interesting to say the least. If nothing is helping and the doctor is still asking you to increase your dosage after repeatedly saying NO, you can report them to the CPSO (College of Physicians and Surgeons), which is the regulatory board of Physicians here in Ontario with your own file/notes youve been building and go from there. I hope if anything, this review has given you the power to take things into your own hands and start recording your own appointments just as they do....
