Life saving! Yes you heard me right! My Botox was life saving, maybe not heart beating saving but, before I messaged Alycia I had been in the emergency department a minimum of once per week since August. I had more prescription pain killers in that 4 month period than my whole life combined and, none of them gave me relief, they just got me through the day. As a Registered Dental Hygienist I am not sure why I hadnt thought of Botox for TMJ therapy but I happened across Alycias add one Saturday and, being the amazing person she is she made room for me Monday morning. That morning I almost canceled because I was on my way to emergency again but I decided to suffer through and let Alycia complete treatment and go to emergency after. That was the decision that gave me my life back. Within days I was off of all the medication and I wasnt suffering any pain. That was 4 months ago and I still am able to function without debilitating headaches and jaw pain. I have days that I get slight headaches but nothing a simple Advil hasnt stopped. I know my treatment will need to be redone but I have spoken with my family doctor and she will write a referral so I can either have my insurance cover treatment or I can claim it at tax time as a medical expense. I highly recommend letting Alycia see if she can help you if you are suffering constant headaches especially if you notice an association with your jaw/cheek muscles. Or if you have ever been told you need a night guard by your dental provider chances are this could really help relieve your symptoms. I know she gave me my life back!
