Very untrustworthy. Sold me a $1500 chainsaw and stated it came with 1 year warranty, as is also stated on Husqvarna Canada's website. When I called about an issue about 5 weeks later I was told the warranty was for 1 month and that I should have read the fine print on the receipt. Also sold my brother overpriced chains and refused to do a return (called the next day and the chains were still unused and in packaging). Kirk stated that it would "cost them 6% in merchant fees" to do the return due to the laws changing recently about merchant card fees. What a absolute load of BS. I have since spoken to 4 other professionals who also stopped taking their business here due to the lies and unprofessionalism they experienced. Unfortunately due to Husqvarna selling their equipment in Canadian Tire, the options are very limited for getting parts from local dealers for the professional sized chainsaws and other equipment. There are very few independent dealers left that offer Husqvarna products. I wanted to support one of the few remaining local small businesses; but I regret that decision now. Save your time and your money, go elsewhere. Newmarket Mower has a much better reputation as do some other places nearby.

I recently purchased a Husqvarna zero turn Z242F mower from Kirk late in the season. The transaction took place mostly over Facebook messenger, where I originally found their ad. I havent bought a mower in a few decades, and certainly not a zero turn, so naturally I had a lot of questions. Kirk was extremely knowledgeable and helpful throughout, answering all my questions over the course of several days before purchasing. He helped me identify the right mower I needed for the space that I have. I had previously called roughly 15 mower stores in York Region prior to finding this place. This included large retail outlets such as Lowes/Home Depot, individual power/utility equipment dealerships such as John Deere / Cub Cadet, and also smaller business such as Markham Mower and Newmarket Mower. None of them were interested in helping me determine which size unit would work for the space that I have. . Not only did Shepherds Utility Equipment have the best customer service out of all of their competitors, they had the best equipment, most accessories (bagger, mulcher, striper, tarp, front light bar, etc) cheapest prices, best warranty (3 year bumper to bumper vs 1 year limited with John Deere/Cub Cadet) and even included delivery, parked right in my garage - at no extra charge. The unit was delivered to my house with the bagger already built and installed along with the upgraded front light bar, ready to go. All other accessories were delivered as expected and the manual/paperwork was found tucked away neatly in a nice gift bag. Kirk actually noticed a super small amount of damage to the leather seat upon loading it for delivery, and was quick to let me know (even before he delivered it) that he already ordered me a new seat, and will come back to my residence to swap it out. They also do their own service and maintenance, which as a customer I find very ideal. Ive heard of horror stories with units bought at Lowes/Home Depot, and customers losing their machines for basic warranty issues for months on end. Now for the unit. The Husqvarna Z242F is ONE NICE UNIT! I love everything about this machine! Everything I found I disliked on the John Deere/Cub Cadet/Toros - Husqvarna has done right! From the integrated parking brake that automatically engages when you open the steering arms (other manufacturers require you to almost touch your toes to engage/disengage a separate parking brake prior to dismounting the machine), to the easy access removable floor panel to expose/clean off your deck, to the built in hose attachment used to clean the inside of the deck/blades - Husqvarna has really thought of everything. All the levers and buttons are exactly where they should be. The unit has a large rear bumper to protect the engine, including a lower bumper that specifically protects the exhaust. A 1/2 inch rubber deflection plate is located along the edge of the deck to eliminate the usual scratches in paint and dents the deck receives when trying to trim close to an object. This unit doesnt lack comfort either - the chair is extremely comfortable, and theres a cup holder and large open storage area to name a few comforts. I just cant say enough about it - worth every penny. Overall I am very happy with my purchase, and couldnt be happier with the level of customer service I received from Shepherds Utility Equipment. if youre in the market for a new mower of other piece of equipment - look no further than this place!
