Came to here for a corporate staff retreat in the summer. The waterfront was beautiful and quiet. There was adequate space for our small team of 6 to work collaboratively indoors and outdoors in a beautiful setting. Bonus that it is close to Pembroke and has good wifi connection!

Just spent the past week at Sugar Cove Cottages and had a great time! Everything was as advertised, AC, good wi fi, netflix and other streaming services all worked, beautiful view from the back porch and quiet street. 30 minutes from several white water rafting companies ( also worth the trip! ) awesome star gazing at night, while we had a campfire going too. Our contact, Elle, was excellent - very accommodating, friendly and responsive! Would definitely come back again!! Thanks, Andy

Enjoyed a week of bliss at sugar cove cottages. Beautiful views beginning with morning coffee ending with wine by the fire. The view is just gorgeous! We rented both cottages with two families. Cottages were quaint with chic decor, the little touches were pretty and made everything feel cozy. Beds were comfortable. Air conditioning and ceiling fans worked well, refreshing with the really hot days we were there. Kids had a great time swimming, using the water toys and older kids loved using the paddle boards and fishing off the floating dock. Variety of board games, wifi and Netflix occupied the kids too! We made the best family memories at this little piece of paradise

Booked a little staycation here at the end of July 2022 from Sun to Thurs, liking that it was close to Ottawa. Were very surprised when we arrived to see that only a 1/4 of the new siding was on the cabin given that the website says: "Renovations are not done during your stay, but please note that we are continuing to improve and upgrade appearances. Some finishing touches have yet to be done." This to me seemed like more than just a finishing touch! Also surprised that for the price point ($275/night), we were required to bring all linens and all towels and that the comforter that was supposed to be provided was simply a small blanket. Now the beach by the cabin is really wonderful and we enjoyed the use of the fire pit, floaties and paddleboards. The river really is quite beautiful especially in the morning. The big issue is that there is a new build right across the street. Construction started at 0700am each morning - not what we were expecting for our vacation :( Only the foundation of this house has been filled so I expect this construction will go on for quite some time. Was also surprised that the brewery tours mentioned on the website are usually only avail on the weekends. We could not find the winery tour that was mentioned on the website but to be fair we didn't ask Elle either. Also, George Matheson Park didn't seem to have any walking trails which again I had sort of expected after reading the website. We did find a wonderful little local museum and a gelato place close by and liked the drive to (and lunch at) Whitewater Brewery (Lakeside). Trying not to seem overly negative because I can see what Elle is trying to create here but think it is important for other families to note that the website doesn't really reflect the current state of the cottages and/or what is actually around locally. We decided to leave a day early and Elle was understanding. Not too sure if we'll be back because again, for the price, expected more.
