I tried to remove the key, but I made it worse instead of resolving the issue as it jammed inside even more. I called the / locksmith service company and told them about our situation. Within a few minutes of our call, their locksmith showed up, ready to lend a hand. He assessed the damage, and he resolved the problem efficiently. He rekeyed the door and also cut us a new set of keys. It didnt cost us much for such a wonderful service.
