The 1885 Suites

This small Victorian guesthouse is located in a nice quiet area. Very easy to self-check in as all of the info needed is given prior. The owner/host Barry was very responsive and communicated well to any and all of my inquiries. Beautiful clean room with many thoughtful touches. All the amenities I needed...fully equipped kitchen and bathroom with full-size premium shampoo, conditioner, body lotion, and even makeup remover pads. I like a room to be very dark to sleep in and the drapes in the bedroom are lovely and heavy to keep out the light. Very impressed.

Charming room and host alike. Barry was there to greet us and made sure all worked well in the suite. Gave us great recommendations for restaurants and things to do in the region. Room/suite went above expectations with a very comfortable bed, fully equipped kitchen, and great sitting room to relax. Outside area also available, but not used by us as we were too busy visiting Picton. A highly recommended location and we will definitely be back.

Everything was as advertised. Clean room, comfortable bed, wonderful bathroom facilities and shower and all the conveniences of home away from home...including dishes, utensils, etc. Our host Barry was helpful and accommodating and also offered us a free day pass to Sandbanks Provincial Park which was an extra bonus. We will definitely be back for another stay at 1885 Suites!

We stayed at The 1885 Suites again this year for a two day visit. Our host, Barry, is very attentive to every detail of the suites and goes out of his way to ensure you have an enjoyable stay. The suite was spotless and comfortable. As perfect as it is, Barry finds ways to make it even nicer. This year he added a cozy gazebo with a butterfly garden and fountain. Love it!!
