Segal & Associates (Accountants)

Similar to prior review from Karim, I had a very bad experience with Segal. Referred by my company to work with Ashlee for cross-border services, but Ashlee regularly did not reply to my emails when I asked basic questions like how to get set up and what documents she needed. Segal was unprofessional and disappointing (especially given a warm reference). Sadly, I would not recommend. Personally, I found another provider (CBTA) who is prompt and courteous in response.

Was recommended by a good friend to Ashlee. Called and sent her an email in the middle of August for an urgent matter, automatic reply "will get back to you shortly". That did not happen! Followed up today, was given a cold brush off. What was I expecting? 1. At least a timely return phone call as noted in your e-mail. 2. perhaps a brief opportunity for a discussion to see if you can help me with my accounting issue. Who knows? You could have gained a potential client. Totally understandable if you are not taking any clients but to brush me a further week away and tell me it is going to cost $300 for a consultation when you don't even know what the issue is certainly was a bit unpalatable and frankly rude. Perhaps on your website, it should read. NOT TAKING CLIENTS!

I have been using Segal & Associates for several years now after being referred by a friend. Ashlee Segal and her team are quick to respond and helped me straighten out my complicated US taxes. Now I use them for my Canadian taxes as well.
