Very pleasant to deal with. I came in right at closing and they were happy to stay and help me out. I only get my house and office keys cut here now after multiple attempts and fails at the big box stores.

Our car was stolen with the house keys inside of it from our driveway this past November. We immediately wanted to replace our front door lock and my wife reached out to Custom Door & Lock Service to do so and they came that day and replaced the front deadbolt for a charge of $260 with tax. A bit steep for about $20-$30 in parts for something I can do with the removal of (2) screws but I was not there and it was immediate service so we were glad to have the work done and to know that the lock was changed after a bad experience with the car theft. Just 3 months later the cylinder of the lock slides out of the lock and falls apart in my wifes hands as she is closing the door. Shocking, I have never seen anything like this. I called Custom Door & Lock Service and emailed them a photo of the lock as well. They emailed me later in the day and told me that we had a cheap lock and that is why it had fallen apart. They were willing to look at it but would charge me a service call fee. I responded that the "cheap lock" was the Weiser Lock that they had provided and that according to Weiser, the blown cylinder that had occurred, only occurs when the rekeying process has not been executed properly or a faulty key was used. Trevor the Manager then calls me and tells me that he wanted to call rather than deal with passive aggressive emails. He said that the 90 labour period had expired but they would look at the lock. I told him the issue was with either the lock or the labour that they had provided and if they did not install the lock incorrectly then the lock they provided was defective. He said he would get back to me and hung up. 20 minutes later he calls and say that a service tech will be there in 30 minutes. I drop everything and go home. The tech is 30 minutes late and pretty condescending but he does swap the cylinder. He then accuses us of causing this issue by closing the door with our key. What a stupid thing to suggest. We have a long handle on the door that we use every time to pull it closed but he wants to suggest that we pull the door closed with our key. He then grinds out the catch in the door frame telling me that the previous installer did this wrong. I guess he did not notice that it was the weather stripping making this a tight fit so now our tight seal is gone but I guess we can throw the latch easily now. Wonderful. All in all a pretty frustrating experience. We paid a lot for quick service with apparently cheap parts. I wish I had been there to do it myself and I would not ever use this company again.
