Shield Shutters

1st Post Date: May 06 2022 Highly NOT suggested and recommended!!!! Used to be good professionals when they had a store at First Markham Place (FMP) back in 2017. Unfortunately, I will never use them or recommend them to friends EVER again!! If you look closely, the positive comments are also 3-4 years back. Long story short, I am a return customer and have already used them several times along with my friends and family, but this time the sales (Mr. R. Lin) disconnected with me suddenly during a follow-up process right after a new installation is completed. The head office didnt respond either because most likely he had told or reported a different storyline. The latest version of the motorized blinds they provided is a micro-USB charging port and has several issues that require to be fixed. Not only the battery doesnt hold at all, but the motor itself had a clicking/cranking noise sound while rolling upward. Sales/Partner (Mr. R. Lin) was not professional enough at one point when I overheard him talking with the technician and suddenly disappearing from a customer is unacceptable. I do not write reviews online, but this can be counted as my first; due to the unbelievable services received. To be fair, this one star is given to the people who did the repair and services in previous years. Keep in mind that the first 3 reviews on Google are from its company's employees themselves which can't be counted as customer reviews. They have just lost several more customers from my referrals and I will not recommend them again. The value of customer service and the company's logo reputation needs to be earned in many years but can be lost in one day. To be more specific, I am a customer with them since 2017 until now ended. I have reported my issues and matters to the Ministry of Government and Consumer Services for further investigation. Shield Shuttles is welcome to disassemble and take everything back providing to return my full refund totally if they are that disappointed with me, I can re-do all again from other companies. I am a very reasonable and understandable person. IF you are thinking of installing blinds for your new home or condo, there are plenty of choices you can get on the market. Prices are very competitive these days and you may want to get several quotations before you finalized your decision. Note: If you had chosen this company at the end, make sure the blinds are not folded, crooked or damange if require for service. Mine had multiple issues when returning from the factory and walls was damaged during installation where I had to re-paint to cover the scratch; again Mr. R Lin seems not to care much. Follow Up Update: May 16 2022: I have a really good company to refer to NOW. Not only they have fixed my issues that Shield Shuttles didn't do under their warranty promises, but the new company who referreded to me has also upgraded my blinds to SMART. The motor has no issues at all and is even quieter than Shield Shutters provided. Because of this incident, I have testified to several companies including one motorized blinds manufacturer in London, Canada. If you need a contact, please PM me and I will be glad to share the good companies with you. Just NOT to consider Shield Shuttles anymore and especially with Mr. R. Lin. IMPORTANT: New Store opened at First Markham Place Address: 3255 Hwy 7, Markham, ON L3R 3P9. AVOID it for your Own Goods!!!!!

Purchased zebra blinds from Shield Shutters back in November 2020. Prices were very good, product came quickly, and professionally installed. Had one minor issue to fix within the year and they came to address it immediately, no questions asked. Thank you Kelvin Chen for always delivering excellent service and surpassing all my expectations. All your efforts are appreciated and there is no other place I would recommend to my friends and family!

These guys were great!! They helped us finish off the windows that were never completed by another company. Installed the shutters so they are open and close smoothly unlike the other company. Shield Shutters also covered all the screws with plastic caps unlike the other company. After nearly a year with the other company we finally have our upper levels completed! Highly recommend these guys!! We have a basement to finish so we will be asking Shield Shutters to furnish those windows in the future.
