My experiences with Dr. S. Gillis-Kennedy have not been all that favorable, yet because she was the only Eye Doctor in Shelburne at the time, I had to go to her for a number of years.
I decided after my final visit more than two years ago, to never, ever, again, return, or use her service in Shelburne.
The Doctor is not very compassionate, sympathic,
understanding, nor does she actually listen.
She also doesn't like to questioned, is very opinionated and full of herself.
After my last appointment with her, I immediately made another appointment with Hakim optical in Orangeville, that very same day.
Who for some mysterious reason! The Eye Doctor examining my eyes at Hakim, did not agree with the
assessment and recommendation that Dr Gillis-Kennedy had made just the few days before.
Since, I had already had my eyes checked I had to pay for the second exam myself.
I was informed my prescription glasses purchased from Shelburne had actually been radically changed and reduced the strength from what I actually needed, since my last visit to Hakim.
(Which was more than three years prior to this visit.)
And that the trouble I was experiencing was not because I was looking through the wrong position of things through the lenses, it was because I needed a greater strength of lenses period.
It also explained why my old reading glasses were more helpful reading, because they were closer to the strength I actually needed to read clearly.
When I found this out. I was livid.
I purchased my new prescription glasses from Hakim.
This After being informed my eyes had not changed in three years, By Dr S. Gillis-Kennedy.
Well, she was definitely wrong in my case.
Had she actually listen to my difficulties rather then forming her own opinion that she was right and I was wrong.
The matter would have been correctly addressed.
Hakim optical, also made a special allowance on the purchase of my eye glasses. Giving me a special discount.
Quoting, "We maybe aren't the Rolls Royce of Eye Glasses. (Expensive) But, we do guarantee the quality and manufacture of our glasses to the customers satisfaction.
