H&R Block

As a self-employed people, me and my wife expected much better service (we were definitely charged for it!) but the service wasn't great at all. Quite a few expenses that were entered into the wrong category and it felt like advice that would be in our best interest was purposefully withheld. Never going to an H&R Block again.

Overpriced service, as we had to do a lot of the work on our own. As self-employed people, we do an HST filing and H&R block doesn't help with that at all. A lot of our expenses were put in the wrong category by the person doing our taxes and we didn't get any advice on what all we can claim as self-employed. Never going to this H&R block or any branch ever.

Paid to have my taxes prepared by H&R Block on Talbot Street, St Thomas in 2021. Thoughtful, of my upcoming travel plans, I was persuaded and selected their "Peace Of Mind" electronic submission and preparation of my quite simple tax return. As a student I paid tuition, had a few jobs , and had paid rent....I was surprised at the cost of this straight forward submission, nevertheless ...I was assured all was in hand and sorted. It is now more than a year and a half later. ..still unresolved! They don't submit the articles of the return, never sent a single document. I have been accruing interest Because no documents were sent, triggering a Reassessment...I personally had to submit my own documents! Now my refund for 2022 is being withheld by the CRA until the documents for 2021 can be processed. My advice don't go here! Run far far away to anybody else who will actually prepare and submit your return in a Professional manner. Peace of mind...HA ...Sloppy Sloppy Sloppy...6 weeks now since they were notified of the problem, they didn't follow up or anything! And now the CRA is on Strike. They don't care a bit. GO ELSEWHERE Anyone interested in perhaps taking them to court ...for not providing Services as Advertised or other....please feel free to contact me.

Don't bother. Kept passing our file around to different people, which lead to having to go over things again and again. Just asked to get our file back and took it over to Rita Payne Tax, best decision.

H&R block is a very highly respected and responsible place to have your yearly tax returns processed. Their team have to go through their testing and educational program before their even able to work as a H&R block representative. I highly recommend them to anyone.
