Arun at the Sleep Country Stouffville store is amazing!! We purchased a replacement mattress but had to exchange it, and Arun went out of his way to solve our situation. Not only was he extremely knowledgeable about our needs, but his kind and friendly personality left us feeling 110% satisfied with our new purchase. We're looking forward to years of great sleep! I have been a Loyal customer for over 25 years, very disappointed with the recent interaction. I had always bought my mattresses from sleep country because of their great customer service and warranty. I was at this store last week for a warranty replacement. Arun was the sales person, he seemed nice and I trusted him. He told me that they no longer make the mattress that I was trying to replace, then showed me a very low end $500 mattress claiming its the equivalent replacement. He suggested that I purchase the bloom and pay the difference. I was then told that I originally paid only $750 for my Sealy mattress. I was shocked and said that no way my mattress cost only $750 but I did not have my receipt at the time. I ended up paying over $400 extra for the bloom since Arun played it off as if he was giving me a huge discount. Telling me that bloom retails for $1400+ and he will give extra discount. Later that night I found out the ongoing promotion for 10% off on the sleep country website, which was cheaper than what I had paid. I also found my receipt which proved that I paid more than $750 for my mattress. I felt cheated so I went back to the store the next day and requested a refund and to cancel the order for the bloom. Arun said that he had no idea of the 10% promotion even though they access the site on a daily basis. He said that it was our job to inform him of their own promotions. I contacted the headoffice and the sleep experts told me that each year there would be a equivalent mattress and that the equivalent replacement should be Sealy Posturepedic Plus Optimum Grand Gemma Mattress $2499. In the end Sleep Country headoffice facilitated in providing the proper warranty replacement. Im posting this to inform other shoppers, not to blindly trust what the sales person tells you. Its unfortunate that there are so many dishonest people out there. I would of ended up paying $400+ for an inferior bed that retails for $1179 vs the proper replacement which retails for $2499 at no extra cost.
