Oxford Inn

The Oxford Inn is located within easy walking or biking distance to the theatres and downtown. It is an older house beautifully decorated and welcoming. The rooms are named after notable places in Oxford, England. We always try to stay in the Bodleian room with its gorgeous king sized bed and warm atmosphere. The host, Grant, is knowledgeable about so many subjects and encourages discussion at the breakfast table. It was lovely to meet the other guests and have a lively talk over a second cup of tea. The breakfasts start with a tasty appetizer followed by fresh fruit, yoghurt and granola if desired. The main course is always delicious, and if you are adventurous, try the Grantine-the house version of poutine: homemade hash browns topped with cheese and baked beans, and, if desired, an egg as well. Its yummy and will keep you until lunch! There is parking beside the house and Grant has a small garden shed where you can lock your bikes at night. The bathrooms have dispensers with soap, shampoo and conditioner. There is a small fridge in the hallway for guest use and a lovely and cozy common room in the attic area. Great place to stay and a kind, accommodating host.
