I was visiting in mid April, probably not the best time. The mine was closed. But I had a good walk first to the mine and back by a short trail, which was very nice

A short trail walk to visit a piece of history. The Mica mines are not accessible (too bad) but I mist say that the place is worth a wander. The trail there is broad gravel. Hot. Take the beaver trail back. Its nicer. All in all, plan to spend an an hour here. Couple it with a visit to the Point trail at Murphys Point provincial park and its a day trip from Ottawa worth doing.
