Air Canada

If I could give no stars it would be more accurate. Once again, air canada takes a bail out and leaves travellers sleeping in the airport. Disgusting service. Do yourself a favour and use any other airline.

I Travel occasionally with Air Canada Timmins as this is better for me to get around like to go see my family in Sudbury or Toronto for a weekend. On the morning of May 24 2018. I got to my gate quickly and just fine with passed security 29 minutes before my morning flight to Toronto was scheduled to take off at 7:05 AM. So I had plenty of time. I noticed the airport was more or less dead quiet that morning. There was no one at the air Canada gate, I wondered. So I had to get out of the boarding area. As no one was around and head back to the entrance of the airport to an Air Canada front service booth. Only to find it unattended. I had to get behind the staff only section and bang on a locked up door in the back, before an not so happy Air Canada agent rushed out towards me. I then ask her what is up with my flight. By this time it was 6:48 AM ( I had spent about 10 minutes trying to find someone) at the service counter with my flight scheduled to leave at 7:05. She did not even bother looking at me and argued that my plane had left at 7:05 AM today. That's correct folks. She was insinuating that the plane had already left at 7:05 AM when it was still 6:40 some on the clock above her head. I was frustrated and simply smirked and looked at the clock and said lady I won't argue with you over how to read time. But I was not late. Air Canada agent refused to give me a new flight without having to pay for a new ticket and I lost the original ticket at $400. So I said forget it and took the taxi back home. As I was outside I bumped into the Security agent that happen to have done my screening. He was out on break and I told him about this occurrence with Air Canada and he as well could not believe I missed that flight. As even he remembers me passing security well on time for that flight. We both agreed that some of the Air Canada Timmins staff should take their retirement soon. And I was not the only one to loose. An elderly lady also missed that same flight and she was not happy as well and got more or less the same scripted line from Air Canada. It appears to us that it was obvious that the flight left at boarding time instead of take off time for what ever reason we don't know. Perhaps because it was not busy and the sky was blue and they where in a rush. Still not cool for the costumer that gets ripped off. A word of Caution. I will try Porter Airlines next time.
