Eastmount Apartments

i would not recommend this place at all. be aware of the good reviews most likely fake. One of the reviews said there was no bed bugs but i have been living here for 2 year and i have been experiencing really bad bed bugs, since 2021! they have done a few treatments and they keep coming back, it has come to the point where now i have to move out as well as throw away all my furniture. and that is all one me now to replace. It is not worth living here at all, management are slow with literally everything, maintenance, I have had cracks in my walls and they didnt fix it till almost a year later. There are a lot of cockroaches in this building , alot! i am not the only one experiencing this and i can assure you all my neighbours have had the same complaints. they dont care about their tenants or the actual units . anytime i email them they never answer any of my emails which is super unprofessional or take any complaints tenants have seriously. also everyone i know most of my neighbours are moving out. its so unpleasant living here. I would not recommend!!

Three inspections and one pest control within a month, in which they will enter your room. Every time there will just be a notice, more like an order to warn you that you cannot lock your room or reject. Unacceptably violating residents privacy.

Used to live here 20 years ago and moved back here in May. I still love the location and spacious apartment. I was not sure how it would be not having a superintendent on site, but there are on call staff for emergencies. There are always urgent matters as can be expected in an older building and Jacob Gnomes, the Building Administrator is pleasant and accommodating and works very hard to take care of tenant and maintenance issues and contractors. The indoor pool is clean and especially great for the hot days of summer. A cleaning person and maintenance person is there most days to keep the building and grounds neat. No problems with bugs so far.

I've lived here for the last 5 years. In that time we've gone through 4 office managers and a superintendent. The super has not been replaced so there is no recourse when anything happens after business hours. This is frightening - 2 people, one elderly have lost their keys and were told to call a locksmith. When someone plays loud music, we're told to call the non-emergency police number. On the other hand there is a great community here, the units are quite spacious and the Danforth neighborhood is the best. A 6 minute walk to the Broadview subway station. This is an edit: interesting how "management", and I use that term loosely, will respond to a glowing review but not to a review that rates this place less than stellar. Shame on them.

I moved into this building my wife and I on Sept 01/1973. I am possibly the longest tenant living in this building or close to it. We moved 3 times in the building over the years from a one bedroom on the south side 12th floor to the north side on the 18th floor and now are on the 23rd floor on the south side. It has always been a great safe area and if you can believe my car was broken into only once in 49 years! The building has had a few changes of ownership but I think Capreit as the new owners have done a great job in maintaining the building and they are very consciences about safety especially fire prevention. We've had a few new property managers in the past couple of years and all appeared very nice but some how are replaced or have moved on. The new property manager Jacob I find is very friendly and has been a great help in issues I have had. He appears to be well educated and has a great personality when talking with him. I hope Capreit will give him a chance to settle in and do his duties as I feel he is the right person for the job. This is my own personal opinion but from my many years here he fits in very well and I believe he can do a great management service for Capreit. Thank You Darrell Smith
