70 Spadina Road Apartments - Sterling Karamar

THIS REVIEW IS FOR 70 SPADINA (CANT FIND IT ONLINE) BUT THIS BUILDING IS UNDER THE SAME MANAGEMENT Its been a few long years since the new owners/property managers took over this building from the previous Wynne Property family. They had their work cut out for them, considering no repairs were done in the last 10-20 years. Was it fun living through a construction period that spanned the most of the pandemic? Definitely not, but as a person who has stuck it out, I am seeing the fruits of their labour. The building doesn't look like a dump anymore, the construction is almost over, and there are no cockroaches in my unit. On-site management is helpful, and the property management representatives have been responsive. Its good to keep in mind that they inherited the mess from the previous owner, but I think they are doing a good job turning it into a nice building.

Potential renter? Stay away. The noise at 70 Spadina Rd. is not suitable for living. Ask questions regarding extensive construction. As of February 2021, all east facing balconies have been removed (started in June 2020 - awaiting completion). Underground/above ground parking is inaccessible due to construction, you must park at another Sterling Karamar location (started in June 2020, awaiting completion). West facing balconies are awaiting demolition (expected to start February/March 2021). Beautification of the building - landscaping, etc. which was not a schedule given to residents, but started on January 28th and since has been constant and extreme jack hammering (you need to wear earplugs inside your own unit. Completion date? Unknown). If you have any respect for your mental health or well-being, because Sterling Karamar do not take that of its residents into consideration, than look elsewhere. Dont be fooled by the fact the owner responds saying the resident experience is important to them. It. Is. Not

STAY AWAY FROM STERLING and this place!! I lived here from March 2017 up until July 2020. Initially it was managed by Wynn Group who were okay but not great. Bugs and heating issues were always there even after so many bug treatments and heat upgradation. I was happy when it was taken up by Sterling Karamar hoping that it would be a better experience. But they turned out to be the worst in terms of considering any requests. The construction work was terrible. Loud sound, vibrations made it unmanageable to live. They had no end date for construction. I moved out last year in July since I couldnt take the sound and the management didnt even consider waiving off my notice period. Too too inhuman and bad . I pity people who still live there with no choice . But hey guys , in terms of rentals the covid has come as a boon and the rental prices have tremendously reduced . So take it as an opportunity and go rent elsewhere . Please stay away from 70 Spadina Road and even Sterling I would say . I have given 1stars only and only cos I lived here for 3years with certain compromises and since in 2018 the rental prices shoot high. I pass by this building sometime curious to know if the construction is still going on and IT IS.... LOL The only good thing I miss about here is the Bloor street !!

Before signing the paper and even the room viewing, they did not tell me there will be many constructions around the building. I found out a super loud and massive development and construction work on the day I moved in, which is right below my unit. Now I figured out why the agent asked me to sign off the paper at another building. The noise is unbearable. As almost everyone is working from home, I called in and asked about the construction, and they told me it would continue to next year. They said no-sorry, covered up the fact, and also had no alternative plan. I called for three days now, no answerpoor communication. If you want noise-free and a care management team, please don't choose this building.

The worst place that I have ever lived. Dirty studio, high rental price. The building is alway under renovation, the noise and the dirt never ends. It's poorly maintained. The property management does nothing, but only disturb the renters by intruding the renter's place for irregular check. Oooo there are a lot of bugs, spiders too... Never rent it. Trust me, You can rent a much better downtown condo at the same price these day!
