Nurses and doctors think they are GODs when it comes to Mental health patients. This is exactly the case at the Oakville Trafalgar Hospital at 3001 Hospital Gate in Oakville, On. The manager of nurses at the hospital Heather H. is amazing but due to laziness and systemic racism in the healthcare system, some patients are treated with respect while others are treated like dogs. At 13 years old, suddenly, I had epilepsy and got healed 11 years later. then, in 2006, I was misdiagnosed with bipolar by the infamous CAMH (Centre for Addiction and Mental Health) and it changed my life for the worst for many years UNTIL this moment on Feb 4, 2023 at 4:18 pm. Though I am locked in the mental ward illegaly and being abused here, and haven't seen my 5 year old autistic son , Prophet Emmanuel

I've had some personal things occur while working and if it wasn't for the support from my BUP, the WSIB appeals team, my return to work rep etc I would have been left to fend for myself and would have been walked all over by my employer and WSIB. My BUP was there for me in some of my darkest moments. When I was in a better place after receiving the support that I needed, I decided to get more involved with the union. I took a bunch of education through ONA to learn more about my rights as an employee, and wanted to pay it forward to others so became a unit rep for my unit. I ended up taking on a role within my local executive not long after and I've just continued to take as much education and get as involved as possible by supporting members in my local bargaining unit. I absolutely love what I do and I'm hopeful to make a difference because my ONA colleagues and our patients deserve to be advocated for. I'm grateful for the care and support I was provided when I needed it. I hope that I can help lighten the burden of so many of our overworked members. We are stronger together. In solidarity!

Work really hard for us nurses. So important given the harsh, underfunded healthcare environment that has gotten worse since D.F. took office.
