Civello Uptown Salon

Update: 9 Months later, Catherine (Manager of Civello location) booked a call with me a week later and then didn't show up to the call. Haven't stepped foot in this Civello since...Ray Civello..thoughts here? Where to begin? As I sat to process, salon Manager started to clean the station beside me and used a hair dryer to blow all the hair from the floor over to my feet, purse and water bottle (nice). Then I was asked to move from my chair for another client and stood at the back of the salon for a bit until I flagged someone down to ask what was going on? Then I was shuffled over to sit on a crowded bench (safety measures?). When I expressed concern I was brought upstairs to sit in the filthy room covered in hair and hair dye. Likely the worst Civello Ive ever been in.

I have been going to Civello for years and have had some fantastic experiences there with Colourists like Priya and Andrea, and Stylists like Jesse, but the service has gone DOWNHILL. The online booking has not worked properly in a long time and when you call/text to book, the incompetent reception staff do not book things in properly. I showed up for a highlights appointment 10 minutes late and apologized for being late and the receptionist told me she had me down for a blow dry service not highlights and that she could not get me in for highlights today. I showed her the text messages confirming the appointment time and what the service was for and she just asked me if I wanted to rebook for another day. There was no responsibility taken for their mistake or an offer of any sort of compensation for the inconvenience. Just not good business. It is unfortunate because this place used to be great, but its just disrespectful to not even apologize for wasting my time and messing up. I understand mistakes happen but you have to make it up to clients somehow when you screw up, or at the very least apologize for the inconvenience. Service: Hairstyling

I booked for blow dry two days ago, I went there and Melisa try to dry my hair but making my hair look frizzy and just drying my hair not straightening it after I ask her what is she doing and showing her my pictureS of myself and explaining I can do it myself the reason I booked here is I am trying to get professional work done which they are clearly NOT. After 3 people trying to DRY MY HAIR , last person said I am busy and can not help you so I asked the girl to make my hair wet so I can do it myself and that is what happened. I WASN'T GOING TO WRITE A REVIEW BUT GUESS WHAT SOMEONE FROM THE SALON CALLED AND COMPLAIN ABOUT THEY ARE NOT TOLERATE BAD BEHAVIOUR I DID NOT KNOW WHY EVEN SHE CALLED ME , FIRST I THOUGHT SHE CALLED TO APOLOGIZESHE CALLED TO MAKE ME FEEL BAD OR ACUSE ME WITH SOMETHING WHICH DIDN HAPPEN I WOULD NEVER EVER USE YOUR SERVICE EVER AGAIN AND NOT RECOMMENDING YOUR SALON TO ANYONE Service: Blowouts

I used to come here a lot but decided to switch from now on for the following reasons 1- This is no longer an aveda salon. They dont use or carry aveda products anymore. Unfortunately this update was not presented to me in my last booking .. 2- Incompetent hair stylist and colorist: I always walk out a mess because the dye is all over my face/ ear and neck. They dont even bother wiping everything off .. they just let you deal with it 3- If you call yourself a hair stylist and charge 100 dollars per cut or style at least be efficient working with multiple hair textures and densities .. Its not my problem to educate you on how to style thick wavy hair or high density hair.. very embarrassing when I know way more about hair structure than my stylist .. if you must go here, pick a senior stylist/colorist and expect to pay 2x the amount of what you would pay at any another place. Not worth the money anymore. Wont be coming back
