I stayed here last June with my boyfriend and it was a fantastic experience!! David and Ellen are the sweetest and made our stay so lovely. The fresh-baked bread that we had was so goodwe ended up freezing a loaf (Ellen made two) and took it home to enjoy it LOL! After some bad weather, we experienced a leak in the ceiling during our stay, but as soon as we told David, he was on it! He compensated us for the leakage, and it was just truly a wonderful time. I had always wanted to stay overnight for a few days at the island, and having two restaurants within walking distance was lovely. I will say though that you should try to bring a bike or something to carry your duffel bag/luggage in for your staythe walk from the dock is about 15 to 20 minutes, and my boyfriend and I realllly regretted not bringing our bikes because trekking that time with heavy bags wasn't fun I should also note that if you're the first people staying there for the season as my boyfriend and I were, it would be wise to do some grocery shopping on either the first or second day of your stay because there was really only the basics in the fridge (i.e milk, eggs, butter/margarine, condiments, pasta, pasta sauce, coffee). We ended up getting some more ingredients that we could leave there to make the stay of the next people less of a hasslebut should my boyfriend and I choose to stay again (which is highly likely lol) we'll know better :) David and Ellen were wonderful hosts, super responsive and caring, and I can't recommend staying at Smiley's enough!

Lovely time staying at Smiley's B&B for a long weekend with my husband and toddler. The Studio was very clean and the kitchen filled with delicious homemade yogurt, bread and spreads as well as bacon, juice, milk, eggs and lots of fruit. David and Ellen were friendly hosts who went out of their way to make us feel at home including offering pick up at the ferry docks (we were able to find the B&B ourselves), early luggage drop-off, use of their canoe and we noticed a rack of bikes (which we were unable to use since we didn't bring our kid seat). It felt like a true country holiday without the drive!

We stayed at Smileys Bed and Breakfast 14 years ago and then again this past weekend with our daughter! The place is great and our hosts were extremely friendly and accommodating. We will definitely be back!
