This was in place of a generator reason being the truck is quieter. After some investigation I was able to connect to my 50 Amp RV connector using a 50 to 20 Amp dogbone. This enabled me to not only power AC devices in my RV but also charge my Lion Energy Safari UT 1300 batteries.
I made a ground plug to eliminate the no ground signal I was receiving from my Power Watch Dog Surge Protector.
I received outstanding support from Car Generator anytime I contacted them with questions. I highly recommend this product as an alternative to a generator for camping.

We got ours installed this past week with the home integration kit, and it works like a charm! So easy. Idle the car outside the garage, plug the generator into the house, visit our electric panel, flip one or more transfer switches, and our furnace, fridge, freezer, and/or sump pump is seamlessly running off the CarGenerator. Beautiful!
Finally, the company offers good old-fashioned warm and personal customer service. I post reviews only when I'm absolutely delighted with a product/service; only 4 in 3 years. CarGenerator makes it 5. I'm delighted to recommend CarGenerator to anyone considering an easy, compact, high-quality solution to intermittent power loss at home.

We've experienced multiple power outages since then so I was able to fully experience the generator's limits and possibilities. The last time was during Halloween weekend that left over 900k people in Qubec without power for 4 or more days, in freezing temperatures.
First off, Jonathan Schloo was very helpful and went out of his way to have the generator delivered very quickly to us.
Setup is very easy and takes less than a minute; the instructions and online videos are pretty self explanatory. The portability of the generator, combined with the convenience of not having to haul gas make this product very user friendly.
The 1000w output is enough for most situations and the dual outlets means you can bring power to multiple locations at the same time. We have a house with a bachelor in the basement so this feature was handy.
During last Halloween's weekend we were able to run the following appliances simultaneously, non-stop, for more than 55 hours:
In the house:
65 inch led smart tv
Internet modem and router
Fridge and freezer with ice machine
Another 18 cu.in. standalone freezer
A lamp with a 5w led bulb
Charging 2 cell phones and 2 e-cigarettes.
Edit: I will also be able to run a sleep apnea machine at night without any worries!
In the bachelor:
55 inch led tv
Illico dvr
Fridge
The only thing we aren't able to run on the generator is the water well pump as it draws too much power on its own. We don't run the house's electric heating and instead use the fireplace. We also use the barbecue for cooking (God bless the side burner!) Having a hot dinner, while the game is on makes for a fun power outage.
Another nice advantage of the cargenerator is the noise level of an idling car compared to regular gas generators. We can hear our neighbors' generators from more than 300m away while our car is barely noticeable next to the house.
I recommend getting the bluetooth dongle for its convenience. On a side note, the kill a watt dongle I received with the generator was defective ( reads incoming volts but doesn't power the appliance or lamp plugged in it.)
I can picture many situations where the generator will be useful: at the hunting cabin for powering the vacuum sealer ( gotta keep that meat and fish fresh!) And if only my electric wood splitter didn't draw over 1000w on startup ( it runs 685 watts continuous) I would also use it at the cabin with the generator. Camping trips, tailgates or emergencies: the cargenerator is well worth it!
For those wondering, Saturn Ions have the battery in the trunk as seen in the pictures. No problems whatsoever hooking the Cargenerator to this setup.
