I really wanted to love my experience with Prospero Teaching in Australia. I've heard of people having great experiences with them going to the UK but I really caution others when using them for Australia. My biggest concern with Prospero was the lack of knowledge the consultants had surrounding the visa process which lead to me being lied to and now dealing with the consequences by myself. When I followed up on this once in the country, I was given no support. Prospero placed me at a rural school, even when I had requested to be in a city. Following the interview with the school, I called to decline the job with my consultant and was met with heavy sales tactics which had me change my mind. Unfortunately it seems like most of their contacts for schools in Australia are very rural. This led to awkward situations with 3 teachers (including myself) being placed at schools in rural areas and leaving the schools very quickly after arriving. I was told that if my first placement wasn't a good fit, Prospero would find me a new school. This did not happen. Lastly, the consultants at Prospero were generally just not knowledgable about life in Australia or moving there. During our "orientation" Zoom meeting prior to my departure, the consultant was googling the questions that I had brought forward to be discussed and had very few answers to any of my questions. I strongly recommend not choosing Prospero as a company when looking to teach in Australia.

Overall, I have had a great experience working with Prospero Teaching! I've been a supply teacher employed with them for the past 2 years and I've loved it so much that I am now getting a new visa to continue teaching with them in the UK. I discovered Prospero at my university career fair just after graduating when I was considering teaching abroad, but nervous about all the logistics of moving to another country. Vian, one of Prospero's Canadian consultants and the person who recruited me, reassured me and helped me every step of the way. Without Vian's expertise, I don't think my relocation would have gone nearly as smoothly as it did. Vian was able to answer all of my million questions before moving, walk me through the visa application process step-by-step, and effortlessly transition me to working with the London staff. Not to mention he did all of this during the worst of the pandemic. After moving, Tom from the London office was able to assist me with things like getting a GP, organizing payroll, and having access to professional development courses. As a supply, I was worried about having steady work, but Prospero's guaranteed pay agreement has made sure that I always have a consistent income. Tom also worked very hard to ensure that I received bookings at good, friendly schools, pay raises, and he rarely sent me to bookings too far from my own neighbourhood. If you are a Canadian teacher thinking of travelling abroad, I would highly recommend that you choose the committed, knowledgeable, and kind staff at Prospero to get you there.

These other reviews HAVE to be bot accounts, right? They manipulate you to get you into taking a great deal (for them), then leave you on your own. When you try to change the terms of your deal to make it fair, they are impossible to reach. They get 240 pounds a day to find you a job....they 'split' that with you by giving you 110. So 130 goes to them just for finding you a job. Back in Canada, machines have been doing for the last 25 years what Prospero does for 240 pounds a day (unless things have gone up since I've been gone). It's all smoke and mirrors here.

This company, in my opinion, does not even deserve 1 star. "A Teaching Agency you CANNOT trust" to modify their own quote. After meeting with an agent and doing a lot of the work on my end, I was very disappointed to be left without a response for several weeks. They were unresponsive and unprofessional and did not fulfill their promise to me and the University (who hired them to place students like myself for our final field placement).

Micah was the recruiting Prospero team member who helped with my move to London, England. I am from Canada and was a recent graduate becoming a teacher- Micah made my journey an easy process and kept up with my progress each step of the way. She recruited me to different consultants across London and ensured I knew all options available to me. I now work in the SouthEast end in a long term placement for my consultant Elisha - who has been amazing. I recommend teachers ready for an adventure to sign on with Prospero teaching. Thank you to the Prospero team!
