I worked with this firm about 4yrs ago on my family matter. I was desperated and didn't know what to do. I had the legal aid certificate at that time and this firm accepted. My first lawyer worked hard but not enough to bring a quick resolution. She just quitted (after 3wks notice)and another associate lawyer took my case in April 2022. After April, my case was neglected and she didn't respond with all my questions. So I had to change my laywer. For transition, this firm didn't send my file to new one completely. I asked for the invoice several times but no response and took the money all.(About $2000 was sitting in the trust) I wasn't aware of another problem until April 2023, other party blamed me not providing the disclosure which was asked in April 2022. The laywer at Paul cooper didn't review my case at all and no knowldge for the leagal process. All my effort to prove for myself truly is not worth anymore. I usually don't leave the review but this is my advice for someone who doesn't have any source about legal process in Canada, is looking for the real help, This is not the firm you are looking for. They don't care about your situation only care about the money.

Paul Cooper Law Firm hands down is the best law firm to help parents struggling in custody battles especially in complex cases. Paul and Melissa are hands down the best people to work with they work well together and very effective and listen to you when you reach out and call and communicate back very quickly and effectively. I remember when I reached out to Paul as I had a complex case and had an an issues with my previous lawyer and Paul helped me right away and heard me and assisted in my case. Paul couldn't believe what I went through and my struggle and right away took on my case .He completed a battle I had very quickly and effectively so great-ful. Paul reassured me and calmed me and helped get through it step by step. He listened and guided and advised the best solution to my case and gave me the good and the bad outcomes that can come about but he continued to help and look out for the best interest of my child and he never stopped . He talked to me prior to court proceedings to ease me and advised what was expected and showed what was needed . Paul will be up front and I appreciated it and told me how it is and I was very great-ful for his honesty and dedication. Paul supported and guided me when I needed the support as well as Melissa. Paul helped how he could and had Melissa help as well to reduce the costs for me . I was so great-ful for the assistance of them both . Paul listened and heard me every time I talked and worked hard to help and encouraged me not to give up. With his help and support and guidance I and my child came on top . We are forever great-ful for such an amazing group of people working there and especially Paul for all his help and Melissa. I would recommend Paul Cooper and his firm to everyone who needs the help. He will be up front and straight forward and you need that from someone who is fighting for you . But he will always strive and push and do what is needed and most importantly he looks out for the well - being of the child in his cases which for me is the most important of all . He gives the support where it is needed and gives 100% dedication to you . He and his firm and everyone there are amazing and very supportive . THANK YOU !

Do not hire this attorney. He is biased and prejudicial. He refused to even attempt to help me get custody or visits with my minor child. Mr Cooper did not believe I had the right to have access or have visits with my minor child because I have a mental health diagnosis. Mr cooper said that he would not even attempt to get me any access, visitation or custody regarding my minor child. He said that I would only be allowed to send my minor child a birthday card. When we were discussing spousal support for me after a 28 year marriage and my inability to work. Mr Cooper told me that I didnt look that sick He believed that I did not look too disabled to work. Mr cooper did not want to advocate for me to get maximum spousal support saying that it is difficult to prove my inability to work. Ive been on CPP disability for many years and I cannot work. Yet he challenged all medical evidence that proved me incapable of holding a job. Mr cooper made this decision based on the way that I looked He said I dont look that sick insinuating that based on my physical appearance I looked capable of working. But he believed that I was too disabled to see my minor child. So my ability to work was questionable but my ability to parent was decided by Mr Cooper So according to Mr Cooper I am too disabled to get custody or visits with my minor child but I am not too disabled to hold a job. Mr. Cooper does not advocate for vulnerable people in society. He doesnt understand domestic violence cases. I had to repeatedly explain the traumatic details regarding my abusive 28 year marriage. Which had me constantly re living the trauma. Mr Cooper did will not learn or remember important things about my case. He never completely did a full intake appointment in order to learn about all of the details regarding my file. His staff is rude and unprofessional just like him. They screen his calls and then they bill you for emails and calls that you will make repeatedly while trying to contact Mr Cooper I will be filling a formal complaint with the law society of Ontario and the human rights commission. This man should be disbarred because as an officer he lacks ethics, morals and basic human decency. He failed to protect my minor child when I notified him of alleged child abuse from the childs stepmother. This man a pathetic excuse of a human being do not contact him. Keep looking hes not the one.
