Dr Mary Karantonis

Dr.Mary Karantonis has become my family doctor since I moved to the area 6 years ago. She is also seeing my kids (6yo and 3yo) when need be. She is very attentive, personable, she explains things well, she gives referral to other doctors when need arises. Getting appointment with her is relatively easy, and the waiting times are rarely more than 30 min. I'm very happy with her.

I have nothing bad to say about the Doctor, but her secretary was rude, obtuse, and arrogantly unhelpful, she didn't care less about needing medication information for my MIL's cardiologist and said she could make a phone appointment with the Doctor for the following week, and I explained that we needed it that day to make sure he would be prescribing the correct meds. I tried over and over to get her to understand the immediate need, but she couldn't care less, I could not take it anymore and just said fine and hung up. She complained to the Doctor about me and that I was rude and hung up and the Doctor said that I was not allowed to call the office again. What unadulterated garbage, she was the rude one and what she doesn't realise is that she was on speaker phone and my husband heard everything that she was saying to me and the ignorant tone she used. They don't need to worry about me calling them ever again, I wouldn't want to have to speak to that ignorant woman again, and this is not the first time either, she has been that rude every time we call, like we are taking up her valuable time.

Dr. Mary Karantonis is kind, caring and an excellent listener. She really takes the time to listen to her patients and is very thorough in her practice. I live in Pickering and while the commute is not ideal it is worth it knowing I'm getting great care. I also want to thank Karen, her receptionist, for being so kind and considerate. She greets everyone pleasantly in person and on the phone --she and Dr. Mary Karantonis are a great pair!
