    I rarely post negative reviews, but I want to warn anyone who is considering hiring Cobella Financial to seriously reconsider their decision and find another provider. My experience working with their team to do my taxes was horrible and given the steep prices they charge for their services, you would expect to be treated accordingly. Like the other negative reviews on here, Shantae and her team will only be in communication with you in the beginning. Once you've paid them, they will not answer any of your correspondence (no matter how many times you try to reach them). Furthermore, the work she did for me was inaccurate. I had to hire another accountant to remediate all of her errors. There is no excuse for this type of incompetence, especially when the client has given you all of their documentation and materials to do your job properly. For anyone wanting to do any form of business with Cobella, please save yourself the trouble of having a stressful and unprofessional experience with this team! The last thing you need during tax season is to deal with a company that is malicious, negligent and unqualified to perform its mission. That is exactly what Cobella stands for.

    Disappointing experience. Completed my taxes here, BIG mistake. To secure my business, Shantae was communicative and friendly, but once I paid (which was wayyy overpriced, if I tell you how much youll laugh at me and say I got played) the communication became pretty much non-existent and made me incredibly nervous. I was blamed for the time it took to have my taxes done, (15 BUSINESS days) despite me sending the documents the next day after requested I didnt get a response until 10 days after this. At Cobella Financial, the customer is never right or treated with respect, rather its somehow only the customers fault when things dont make sense and take long to process. Even Rachel the assistant was rude and unhelpful. There were two emails that she straight up didnt respond togreat help! But again, they were waiting on me to provide them with information, with two emails left pending? When my taxes were finally done, Shantae offered to call me to discuss any questions I had. Getting her to explain aspects of the return was like pulling teeth. She was so rude during the call and eventually became hostile when I admitted that this was an awful and disappointing experience. Ive never been treated like that beforeit was alarming and disheartening. Maybe shes okay at the other financial services, but this experience was so bad for me, that I want to just learn to do my on taxes and save hundreds of dollars. As I told Shantae on the phone this is not how you run a business. Its not an easy decision for me to make this review, but as I told Shantae she needs to learn how to run her business differently and has some growing to do and I wish her well on that journey.

    Working with Shantae at Cobella Financial is one of the worst mistakes I could have made toward my business. I hired Shantae to complete historical bookkeeping and provided all that was needed in terms of receipts and a document with transaction explanations to further help her with the process. Even with all this, the work was completed incorrectly and an additional 10 days after our agreed 30 business-days completion (Which officially started March 8th). The first initial completion Shantae had reported my business had a Five Figure Net Loss that year when my business was nowhere near one - I also had outside professional help for tax purposes and they also reported nowhere near a loss for the given year she was supposed to complete. Her second attempt at completing, her reported net profit/loss was now a five figure net profit (which still was not the correct figure) - How do you make a mistake that bad when the financials are all there? In the midst of the process, I tried to contact Shantae to receive any updates on how the bookkeeping was going and on countless occasions I had to send follow up emails in order to even get a reply from her. She also tries to claim I was in a rush, when I in fact only asked for an update a week before our contract agreement completion date expired. It also felt odd not being contacted to make any clarifications needed, progress, etc. Shantae will claim she invited me to click up to see progress but in the beginning of the onboarding process I let her know twice I had not received any invite and from there was no follow up to correct that. Towards the end of our agreement I asked her to once again try to invite me so I can see the many invites she had sent as updates to which she refused because there was no point and that we were almost at the end of our agreement, which probably means there was no invites throughout the process to begin with. She would also make claims on any docs/receipts sent but when I ask her to send the said documents in question she would ignore my request. Shantae has now completely stopped replying to my emails, even though I had made it clear the work is still incomplete, as there are multiple errors I am viewing (double transactions, missing transactions, uncategorized transactions, etc). I had given Cobella Financial the full amount owed at the beginning of the process (which was not a small amount of money) and now Shantae has used that to her advantage and stopped completing the work because she already has the money in full. Shantae does not care if you are unsatisfied with her communication or the work that needs to be completed. She will deem it as complete and ignore you when you bring up any concerns and leave it at that. The client should always have the last say when it comes to satisfaction of work completed, as they are the ones paying for it.
