Viviplan

Your plan is as good as the individual they've assigned to it, which appears to be an independent contractor. I thought my plan was mediocre. It used a standard template that wasn't particularly relevant. There were a lot of tables, which I understood, but the text didn't provide an accompanying report that was particularly readable. And similar to another reviewer, I was led to believe they were going to provide comments on my investments. What I got instead was a standard approach to the asset allocation recommended for a balanced approach. I knew this already. I wanted them to look at my investments, which I shared with them, and comment on them specifically. I don't recommend Viviplan.

Found Viviplan through an article on Macleans magazine. Was looking for a plan for saving for our retirement, planning our estates and ensuring we were on track with spending, saving, etc. Was not expecting an analysis of current investments. Lisa was great to work with an answered all of our questions, even when we thought of a few more after the presentation of our plan. A fee for service model was exactly what I was looking for and Viviplan fit the need. The process was easy and straightforward. I would recommend.

After retiring we realized that we needed a de-cumulation strategy in order to efficiently redeem RRSP's and other savings, and when to begin taking our CPP and OAS payments. The process forces you to do a realistic projection of your expenses, recommends an investment mix, and based on calculated income and forecast tax rates and amounts will map out the optimum time to begin CPP and OAS payments. Lisa was very patient and is extremely knowledgeable in all of these areas. There is a lot of data available as you go through the process which Lisa will explain fully if there are questions. Overall a good thorough, thought provoking process. An excellent value. Great job Lisa!

I had good experience with Lisa C at Viviplan! A typical financial plan is either "free" but requires you to purchase specific products, or in the range of $3,000+ from a fee-only independent advisor. Viviplan is a "robo-advisor" for financial planning in my opinion. I am a millennial with no complicated financial situations, so this option is perfect. For the price of $1,000, I was able to get a financial plan that covers saving plan, investment projections, insurance needs, asset & cash flow projections and retirement withdraw strategies. These items are the fundamentals to build confidence in personal finance, especially for millennials like me who started my career several years ago and have 30+ years to go. Starting on the right path is important and I am happy with my financial plan created by Lisa!
