Melanie helped me to design several rooms in a house I had recently moved into. I was struck right away by Melanie's kind and warm demeanor, and her instant understanding of my taste, goals and budget. She was a pleasure to work with throughout the whole process. The rooms that Melanie put together are gorgeous! They are soft, warm and peaceful, as well as completely livable for a family with small children. When we purchased our house, we knew it had good bones and lots of potential, but was in desperate need of a complete overhaul. Melanie was instrumental in transforming our entire main floor from old and musty to fresh and inspired. She really just got us and was able to deliver a space that is truly beautiful, while still being functional for a family with young kids. Melanie is an expert with tying in design and functionality while maximizing our budget. She is a professional, who is responsive, patient, adaptable and kind. We worked with Melanie during the pandemic on our living and dining space (the place we spend the most time). As a new family we had a tight budget, and experienced supply chain disruptions. Throughout the whole process, she was optimistic, provided regular updates and assurances to give us confidence. WOW did she deliver! She nudged us to try a darker colour for our wainscotting and we are so thankful she was able to push us out of our comfort zone. The pieces she picked out created a cozy, inviting and beautiful space for us to celebrate our first Christmas as a family of three. We love spending time in our beautiful home and creating new memories. My only wish was that we had the budget to have Melanie put her magic touch on the rest of our house. She is truly gifted and talented, and a wonderful person all around. We can't thank her enough and hope to work with her again in the future.

Melanie Hay Design truly turned our house into a home. We wanted to find a designer that could help bridge and interpret the vision that my husband and I had for our space relaxed and elegant but also functional for our family. Melanie did exactly that. We were blown away at how she nailed our design style and to this day we are constantly complimented on our space. In addition to delivering a beautiful design, Melanie added tremendous value by recommending and working directly with the contractor and trades to insure a smooth execution, which for two busy professionals like us was deeply appreciated. Her positivity coupled with her professionalism and expertise made her a dream to work with. She really takes the time to listen to you and understand your personality and ideas to the point where she may even be able to carve another career path in psychology one day!
