MoneyGram: do NOT use it. I am very disappointed with MoneyGram system. I never used it before, gave it a try, and will never use it again. It is a very strange and badly functioning system. I needed to receive money which was sent to me by a client. I had been to 6 locations in the downtown Toronto, the financial core of the city and province and country. There are hundreds of locations around. But .... I have already spent much more time on chasing money than doing work for being paid for with that money. At all the locations visited they all take money, gladly, to send, but they do NOT give money out to receivers. It is a very strange thing. Looks like a barbaric money laundering machine to me. They "do not have cash", they do not carry cash, they do not pay anything out, only taking money in. For example, Febr. 13, 2020 I was in line at the Eaton Centre location (220 Yonge St, Toronto, ON M5B 2H1, Canada). The gentleman in front of me was sending about 500 dollars, in cash. He gave the money to cashier, she called somebody, her "supervisor" came over, took the money and supervisor was gone in a moment with money. Then lady at the counter told me, standing right behind the gentleman, that they did not have any money. When I pointed out that she just took 500$ and handed it in to the other lady, the cashier said that it was their policy, they do not keep money, they give them away to their safe immediately once received, and even though I am next in line, she can not give me the money she received from the previous client and is still holding in hands. She said they do not make any cash payouts at all, ever, and that though many people are not happy with it, it is their policy. It feels so strange to see previous customer giving money, and bills still being in front of your nose to be told you can not get any while they are being carried away by another employee. Felt like an insult, especially after taking a lot of time and visiting at least 5 locations prior. At some locations they frankly say they do "receive" anything, only "send" (e.g.#C, 123 Queen St W #73, Toronto, ON M5H 2M9, Canada). At most others they beat around the bush and tell you "to come some other day". A very disappointing system. I hope it helps someone to avoid bad experience. Thanks, Karl (Karl Marx)
